<p>Hiring Range: $88867.00 to $144409.00</p> <p>Full Time or Part Time: Full_Time</p> <p>Additional Detail</p> <p>Description for Candidates:</p> <p>Assist in delivery of District's transportation program by representing interests of jurisdictions and representation of VDOT's interest to the jurisdiction with regard to VDOT planning, preliminary engineering, construction, maintenance and operational processes. Perform varied technical engineering duties related to the project development program. Coordinate and communicate with elected officials, local government staff and citizens regarding funding and resolution of local transportation project and program related issues. Coordinate public involvement process for county and district-wide projects. Provide technical advice, guidance and training regarding assigned engineering program areas. Prepare analyses, reports, and recommendations based on engineering determinations. Provide engineering support and consultation related to engineering program area. Effectively manage assigned projects to ensure timely and accurate completion. Communicate with internal VDOT staff, local government staff, consultants, citizens and FHWA regarding transportation projects and programs.</p> <p>How you will contribute:</p> <p>Analysis and Technical Reporting: Analyze and interpret engineering data and information. Prepare complete, clear and concise reports and recommendations.Communication: Establish an effective line of communication between VDOT, contractors, government agencies and the public. Investigate issues and resolve complaints.Communication: Participate in county coordination meetings, providing status updates on SSYP projects and any locality administration agreements. Coordinate, attend and facilitate project meetings, particularly related to coordination with county staff on county-related issues.Coordinate Transportation Program Issues: Assist in the coordination of Transportation Program issues. Serve as point of contact for project development for locality projects. Monitor and assist local governments with preliminary engineering of development of projects and project initiation in the STIP, CLRP, TIP, SSYP or equivalent and the SYIP. Coordinate with county staff and internal VDOT disciplines. Serve as local VDOT expert on special funds (TAP, RS, HSP, CMAQ, RSTP).Engineering Process Management: Use established VDOT policies and procedures in the development and delivery of engineering projects. Engineering projects are completed in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.Enhancement Program Manager: Manage and serve as point of contact for County Enhancement projects. Review and rank applications with others. Provide guidance to applicants and sponsors. Attend and participate in workshops for Enhancement projects. Serve as local expert on requirements for projects.Manage Assigned Activities: Plan, schedule and coordinate engineering program activities such that deliverables are met within the established scope and timeline.Project Engineering: Assist in the management of projects and tasks including development of and managing the scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, change management, quality, and status reports. Complete multiple concurrent tasks and assignments, and report updates on their status.Provide Project Development and Delivery Support: Provide support to VDOT and Locally Administered Transportation Projects during Project Development and Delivery processes. Be familiar with the Project Pool to assist with administration and development of scope, schedule and estimates. Facilitate coordination between VDOT and the local government to resolve related issues.Public Involvement: Manage and serve as point of contact for the development of public hearing and CIM presentations, transcripts, logistics and web pages for county projects. Prepare responses to citizen inquiries reflecting VDOT's position on design issues. Provide specific guidance to localities on the public hearing process.Special Assignments: Manage special program initiatives and projects as assigned.
