<p>Holliston High School is looking for a dynamic educator to help cultivate a strong passion for music and performing arts in our students. The school and district have strong commitments to authentic learning experiences and continue to look for ways to engage students in unique and exciting courses that will foster independence, resilience and perseverance. Holliston High School is always looking to increase student voice and agency so that students take ownership over their learning and see the classroom environment strongly connected to the communitythrough meaningful and relevant work. It is essential that teachers build rapport with students, parents, and families so they understand that teachers care about them and want to support their success. We are looking for a teacher who continually improves teaching skills by seeking out constructive feedback and professional development opportunities.</p> <p>Candidate will have the following:</p> <ul> <li>Massachusetts DESE license: Music: Vocal/Instrumental/General </li><li>Excellent skills in vocal and choral pedagogy and in building a choral community. </li><li>This position includes a number of music electives encompassing a variety of topics. </li></ul> <p>This is a benefits eligible position.</p> <p>If you are interested in applying for this position, please submit a cover letter, resume, and three (3) letters of reference.</p> <p>Public School employees of Massachusetts are required to submit their fingerprints to a National Criminal Database check. In addition to the national background check, a satifsfactory Massachusetts Criminal Record Check (CORI) is required.</p> <p>Holliston High School is a comprehensive high school focused on partnering with students to provide a very wide range of opportunities to demonstrate their interests, knowledge and skills. Over the last three years our students, faculty, parents/guardians, and community members have worked hard to create a Vision of the Graduate that supports student-centered instructional practices and fosters student ownership over their learning. Through our grades 9 - 12+ curriculum and experiences, our students will become engaged global citizens, innovative thinkers, effective communicators, and lifelong learners who exemplify character and live balanced lives.</p>
