CRM collaborates with programs throughout HPD to ensure that the agency and its partners comply with laws (federal, state, and city), regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.</p> <p>The Office of Compliance and Risk Management is composed of divisions:</p> <ul> <li>EORC </li><li>Adjudications </li><li>Public Information </li><li>CRM/Executive </li><li>Regulatory Compliance </li></ul> <p>Your Impact:</p> <p>CRM is at the heart of transparency and accountability. Working closely with internal departments and external partners, the PI team ensures fair access to agency information and safeguards sensitive records. By establishing best practices around record retention and data privacy, we empower HPD to serve the public with integrity and efficiency. As the Record Management Intern for the Division of Public Information, you work directly with a team of experts in records management and dive into the systems and processes that keep crucial public records secure and organized. You will support vital housing policies across New York City.</p> <p>Your Role:</p> <p>As a Records Management Intern, you will play an integral role in supporting HPD's mission by assisting with the organization, storage, and management of important agency documents. This internship will give you hands-on experience in records management, data validation, and document retention processes, while working alongside professionals dedicated to preserving the integrity of public records.</p> <p>Your Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assisting in the development of HPD's comprehensive Records Management plan, ensuring secure, efficient recordkeeping and improved public access. </li><li>Integrating and organizing documents received from various agency divisions, maintaining consistency and accuracy in storage. </li><li>Supporting the documentation and development of records management procedures, helping to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency. </li><li>Collaborating with team members to manage and update finding aids and records indexes. </li><li>Handling sensitive and confidential material with the utmost professionalism and discretion. </li><li>Contributing to enhancing records management services for internal and public use. </li></ul> <p>Preferred skills:</p> <p>We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented problem solver who thrives both in team environments and when working independently. If you have strong communication skills, an eye for detail, and an interest in data management and public service, this is the perfect opportunity for you!</p> <p>Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position. Applicants are responsible for ensuring that they meet all qualifying requirements for this position at the time of application.</p> <p>SUMMER COLLEGE INTERN - 10234</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).</p> <p>NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June - August each year.</p> <p>Public Service Loan Forgiveness</p> <p>As a prospective employee of the City of New York, you may be eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs and state repayment assistance programs. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
