<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Our Team:</p> <p>The Chewy Partner Hub (CPH) team builds and operates platforms that support vendor and partner workflows across Chewy. We focus on delivering scalable, reliable systems and intuitive user experiences, while continuously improving software development methods and platform capabilities.</p> <p>Your Role:</p> <p>As a Software Engineer III, you will design, enhance, and build scalable solutions that power critical partner and internal workflows. As a full-stack engineer, you will work across user-facing applications, backend services, and data-driven systems to solve complex business problems. You will take ownership of complex features end-to-end, influence system design, and drive engineering standard methodologies while mentoring Team Members and collaborating with multi-functional collaborators.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Design, build, and enhance high-complexity components and platforms with a focus on scalability, maintainability, performance, and resiliency </li><li>Develop and integrate APIs and backend services using Python, Java, or Kotlin in distributed systems environments </li><li>Build and enhance user-facing components using modern web technologies (React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS) </li><li>Partner with technical and business teams across multiple initiatives to deliver features and enhancements </li><li>Contribute to code quality and architecture guidelines, promoting standard methodologies across the team </li><li>Guide engineers and advise collaborators on system improvements, optimizations, and trade-offs </li><li>Act as a technical point of contact, communicating project status, risks, and solutions </li><li>Collaborate to identify, isolate, and resolve production issues and system malfunctions </li><li>Lead by example, mentoring engineers and influencing engineering practices and hiring standards </li><li>Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (grooming, planning, demos, retrospectives) </li><li>Participate in on-call rotations and drive operational excellence </li></ul> <p>What You'll Need</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, or related field with 7+ years of software development experience </li></ul> <p>(or Master's degree with 5+ years of experience)</p> <ul> <li>Strong programming skills with experience in Python, Java, and/or Kotlin </li><li>5+ years of experience building enterprise software applications using frameworks such as Spring Boot or WebFlux </li><li>5+ years of experience building and operating APIs and microservices in distributed systems </li><li>4+ years of experience working with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) </li><li>3+ years of experience with frontend technologies including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS </li><li>Experience designing services and architecture aligned to standard processes and scalability requirements </li><li>Hands-on experience with AWS cloud (EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS) and infrastructure as code (Terraform) </li><li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar) </li><li>Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright) </li><li>Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and system design </li><li>Experience building high-performing, scalable systems in production environments </li><li>Proven ability to provide technical leadership and mentor Team Members </li><li>Experience fixing, triaging, and resolving production issues </li></ul> <p>Bonus:</p> <ul> <li>Experience developing user interfaces using React.js, including component design, state management, and API integration </li><li>Experience working on enterprise or workflow-driven platforms </li><li>Experience in e-commerce or retail domains </li><li>Experience using GenAI tools (e.g., Cursor, Codex) </li><li>Exposure to observability tools (Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry) </li></ul> <p>We're building something special. We'd love to hear from you.</p> <p>The base salary range for this role is $141,000 - $225,000.00.</p> <ul> <li>The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.
