You model persistence and growth mindset and thrive in a culture of feedback. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Massachusetts teaching certification/licensure in Culinary Arts - Chapter 74 </li><li>Current Sanitation Management and Allergen Awareness Certifications. </li><li>Five years of recent (within the last seven years), full-time employment experience directly related to culinary arts. </li><li>Evidence of mastery of a wide variety of teacher competencies and the understanding of instructional techniques. </li><li>Demonstrated skill and working knowledge of various cooking methods including but not limited to deep-frying, sauté, baking, roasting, steaming, poaching and braising. </li><li>Demonstrated skill and working knowledge of a la carte service, entrée preparation and plating, salads, soups, sandwiches, sauces. </li><li>Demonstrated skill and working knowledge of meat, poultry, and seafood fabrication and preparation as well as vegetable preparation and vegetarian cooking. </li><li>Working knowledge of restaurant, banquet/catering, and small café food production. </li><li>Evidence of supervisory experience for foodservice operations. </li><li>Second language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) proficiency a plus </li><li>Current authorization to work in the United States </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Advanced educational preparation. </li><li>Evidence of educational leadership. </li><li>Curriculum development experience and knowledge of technical competencies with curriculum frameworks. </li><li>Competent in computer applications such as Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Point-of-Sale operations. </li><li>Ability to speak Spanish </li><li>Demonstrated experience supporting students with disabilities </li><li>Demonstrated experience supporting English language Learners </li><li>Demonstrated experience teaching high school students </li><li>Demonstrated experience in Baking and Hospitality </li></ul> <p>Work Year: Teachers in Salem Public Schools work a 185 day school year (180 student contact days plus 5 professional development days.
