<p>Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer - Project Lead</p> <p>Full time with amazing benefits</p> <p>Compensation: Market Rate</p> <p>Department: R&D Hardware Engineering</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>We are seeking a dynamic Senior Engineering Group Leader to lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers in the design, development, and launch of innovative medical device products. This role is integral to the success of our R&D Hardware Engineering team, requiring a strong technical background in product development from concept through manufacturing, as well as leadership experience in driving system-level integration and performance.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for mechanical design and system integration for complex medical devices. </li><li>Provide technical direction, coaching, and mentorship to ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with project goals. </li><li>Support full lifecycle product development-from concept through manufacturing transfer and product launch. </li><li>Apply a systems mindset to troubleshoot and resolve engineering and integration issues across hardware and cross-functional teams. </li><li>Review and track project schedules, deliverables, and resources to ensure timely execution. </li><li>Ensure alignment of engineering activities with corporate objectives, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. </li><li>Coordinate closely with Project Management, Quality, and other R&D departments. </li><li>Monitor team performance, conduct evaluations, and facilitate professional development and training. </li><li>Allocate resources and develop contingency plans as needed to meet milestones. </li><li>Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and documentation practices. </li><li>Contribute to or lead technical reviews, risk assessments, and root cause investigations. </li></ul> <p>Secondary Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Lead cross-functional teams in resolving technical challenges </li><li>Contribute to design control documentation and regulatory submissions </li><li>Help define engineering strategy and roadmap for the group </li><li>Support functional budgeting and resource planning </li><li>Provide hands-on engineering support as needed </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline</p> <p>8+ years of engineering experience in medical device product development</p> <p>Proven track record of launching medical devices from concept to commercialization</p> <p>Experience in system-level design and integration of complex electromechanical systems</p> <p>Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills</p> <p>Proficiency in root cause analysis, risk management, and statistical methods</p> <p>Working knowledge of design control, ISO 13485, and FDA regulations</p> <p>Experience in a functional management or team lead role preferred</p> <p>After you have applied, download our Staffmark Group WorkNOW App to receive real-time job offers and apply for additional opportunities.
