No VP Area U of U Health - Academics Department 00201 - PhysicalTher/Athletic Training Location Campus City Salt Lake City, UT Type of Recruitment External Posting Pay Rate Range $18-$24 DOE Close Date 08/13/2026 Priority Review Date (Note - Posting may close at any time) Job Summary</p> <p>We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead a cycling class designed for individuals with Parkinson's Disease (PD).</p> <p>The instructor will motivate participants to achieve specific cadence goals and ensure the proper functioning of their activity monitors and cadence meters. This is part of a multi-site randomized control trial.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Leading one or more cycling classes three times per week, each lasting up to 45 minutes. </li><li>Motivate and encourage participants with PD to reach their cadence goals. </li><li>Monitor participants' cadence using a cadence meter. </li><li>Ensure that participants' activity monitors are charged and functioning properly. </li><li>Provide clear instructions and modifications to accommodate various fitness levels and abilities. </li><li>Foster a positive and supportive class environment. </li><li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge on exercise recommendations for individuals with PD. </li><li>Communicate effectively with participants, providing feedback and encouragement. </li><li>Ensure the safety of all participants during the class. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications Preferences</p> <ul> <li>Strong enthusiasm and motivation skills. </li><li>Ability to inspire and encourage individuals with PD. </li><li>Basic knowledge of exercise science and fitness principles. </li><li>Experience working with individuals with PD or other neurological conditions is a plus. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to manage time and schedule classes effectively. </li><li>CPR and First Aid certification required. </li><li>CITI Training and other research-related certifications are required. </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions Summary Additional Information</p> <p>The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems ("URS").
