<p>Job Description and Duties</p> <p>Under the general direction of the Crime Analyst Supervisor, the Crime Analyst (CA) performs the more difficult analytical tasks associated with identifying, monitoring, and tracking offenders in the California Sex Offender Registry (CSOR). Duties include: analyzing criminal history and related information to establish a sex or arson offenders' requirement to register pursuant to Penal Code (PC) sections 290 and or 457.1; assessing the California (CA) registration requirement of sex offenders who have been convicted in out-of-state (OOS), federal, military or foreign courts; assessing the CA registration requirement of juvenile sex offenders; and processing request for offender information received from law enforcement and other criminal justice agencies to aid in the prosecution of offenders who have failed to register as required by law.
