<p>RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Plan and deliver art lessons that introduce students to different techniques, styles, and media. 2. Encourage creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking through art projects. 3. Implement and continually examine a curriculum that is culturally inclusive within a safe and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued. 4. Organize and display student artwork throughout the school. 5. Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, respectful learning environment. 6. Assess and document student progress and provide feedback. 7. Employ a variety of age and developmentally appropriate instructional methods and materials designed to meet and engage the needs of all learners. 8. Collaborate with other teachers and staff on school-wide and district-wide projects and events. 9. Maintain art supplies and materials and order replacements as needed. 10. Develop positive and respectful relationships with students and have the ability to spark a passion for learning and student growth. 11. Participate in professional growth opportunities. 12. Attend and participate in department and curriculum development meetings. REPORTS TO: Director of Academic Programs/City-Wide Art Department Chair.
