<p>If you have 5 years' experience in Commercial Construction or Construction Management and your High School Diploma or GED, you may be Chatham County's next Construction Superintendent. </p> <p>Under the supervision of the Senior Transportation Engineer, you </p> <ul> <li>Monitor and inspect road and transportation infrastructure construction projects to ensure compliance with project contract documents, plans, and specifications. </li><li>Perform general construction inspections and oversee County construction and renovation projects. </li><li>Direct, monitor, and check to ensure the proper completion of the work of contractors and subcontractors follows the project contract documents, plans, and specifications. </li><li>Inspect work while in progress and upon completion of the project. </li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the department and County personnel, contractors, subcontractors, temporary employees, and the public. </li><li>Keep your immediate supervisor and designated others updated and informed concerning work progress, including any potential issues. </li><li>Make suggestions for new or improved ways to address construction issues. </li><li>Attend/hold job site construction progress meetings and generate and maintain daily construction reports, logs, and project punch lists. </li><li>Measure quantities and perform calculations to verify contractor payments. </li><li>Review and approve laboratory test results, contractor invoices, pay requests, change orders, as-builts, and close-out documents. </li><li>Ensure proper installation and maintenance of Storm Water Best Management Practices. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li><li>High School Diploma or GED, and </li><li>At least five (5) years of Commercial Construction Superintendent or Construction Management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. </li><li>Must possess or be able to obtain within one (1) year the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission (GSWCC) Certified Inspector. </li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. </li></ul> <p>Other Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of GDOT standards, MUTCD, and PROWAG specifications. </li></ul>
