<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The Product Design Engineer will work to design, develop, and maintain screw-in hydraulic cartridge valves. The candidate will be the technical owner of various product lines based on technical expertise. The Design Engineer is challenged with being a key contributor to the continuous improvement of our cartridge valve technology product portfolio, both locally and globally.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Responsible for all aspects of given product line(s) by developing and maintaining requirements of the design</p> </li><li> <p>Submit and carry out Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) effective and efficiently</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate with manufacturing engineering and operations teams for:</p> </li><li> <p>Design for Manufacturing, Cost, Assembly</p> </li><li> <p>First Pass Yield (FPY) Improvements</p> </li><li> <p>Design custom cartridges for customer specific applications utilizing specialized software to create models and drawings of products</p> </li><li> <p>Work with customers, distributors, integrators, etc. to answer technical questions and specify appropriate cartridge utilization</p> </li><li> <p>Provide technical guidance and expertise on design related issues</p> </li><li> <p>Drive the project management of new applications from initial conception to final commissioning/in-field testing through to production release</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare and deliver presentations at reviews and meetings</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Hands-on capability to carry through the complete project from conception to final sign-off by the customer </li><li>Ability to understand complex mathematical relationships that underpin mechanical analysis </li><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprint documents </li><li>Ability to proficiently utilize CAD/3-D Modeling Software </li><li>Ability to coordinate and communicate tasks across a wide range of cross-functional teams </li><li>Extreme attention to detail </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics is highly preferred. </li><li>Experience in the use of simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD, 1-D, etc.) </li><li>Knowledge of screw-in cartridge, sub plate mounted and stackable mobile sectional valves, as well as a solid understanding of hydraulic components, circuits, and systems </li><li>Thorough understanding of materials, linear and nonlinear behavior of materials, fatigue, and corrosion </li><li>Understanding of GD&T standards and best practices </li><li>Understanding of 6 Sigma principles </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time </li><li>Ability to lift to 35 pounds </li></ul>
