<p>POSITION: ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Massachusetts Secondary Principal Licensure </li><li>Experience as an assistant principal and teacher at the secondary level preferred </li><li>Minimum of a Master's degree required </li><li>Experience working collaboratively with faculty, staff and the broader school community </li><li>Knowledge of current research in curriculum instruction, and knowledge of effective schools research </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills </li></ul> <p>The candidate should possess the following qualities in order to perform the duties of Assistant Principal successfully: strong organizational and communication skills; the ability to motivate resourcefulness; and high expectations for students and staff.</p> <p>JOB GOAL: To create an environment where all members of the school community share the goal of providing continuous opportunities for each student to develop to his or her fullest potential</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for discipline of the school oHandle all routine discipline oHelp teachers with discipline problems oNotify parents of student suspensions-phone and letter oHold parent conferences regarding pupil discipline oHandle all office detention oCheck students assigned office detention </li><li>Attendance oCheck attendance and punctuality of students oCheck attendance records oMake inquiries concerning attendance and tardiness </li><li>Handles daily transportation issues including the supervision of school buses, traffic problems, and bus requests </li><li>Administer the public relations program, i.e. Open House, Parents' Nights </li><li>Supervise the school cafeteria </li><li>Aid in preparation and operation of the school budget </li><li>Assist Principal and department heads in the recommending/selection of school supplies, equipment, and textbooks </li><li>Assist the Principal in organizing and conducting faculty meetings </li><li>Represent the school at public functions in the absence of the Principal </li><li>Aid in preparation of the master schedule and student programs </li><li>Aid in evaluation and rating of staff members </li><li>Aid in selection of new teachers </li><li>Aid in orientation of new teachers to school routine and operation </li><li>Supervision of the custodial staff </li><li>Responsible for office records </li><li>Assume leadership in programs of curriculum development </li><li>Other such duties as assigned by the School Principal </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO: Principal</p> <p>SALARY: Per Unit B Contract</p> <p>STARTING DATE: July 1, 2025</p> <p>PAPER APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED</p>
