<p>Florida A&M University is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Faculty Administrator vacancy.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>This position serves as a key administrative leader in advancing the university's mission of teaching excellence and scholarly impact and is expected to:</p> <p>Provide leadership for the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) establishing priorities aligned with the university's mission and strategic goals; Model evidence-based teaching and learning practices by serving as the instructor of record in one or more courses during the academic year; Develop and implement comprehensive faculty engagement programs that support excellence in teaching across all modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, online); Collaborate with academic deans, department chairs, faculty and staff to identify and address pedagogical needs across the University; and manage budgets, personnel, and resources effectively.</p> <p>Design and facilitate workshops, conferences and seminars on evidence-based teaching practices, course design, and assessment strategies; Provide individual consultations and coaching for faculty seeking to enhance their teaching effectiveness; Coordinate new faculty orientation and mentoring programs focused on teaching excellence; Support faculty in integrating educational technologies and innovative pedagogical approaches; Contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning through research, presentations, and publications; Represent the institution at regional and national conferences on higher education; Serve on university committees related to curriculum, assessment, and academic quality; Foster connections with peer institutions and professional organizations in educational development; and promote the center's services and cultivate a campus culture that values teaching excellence.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>A Master's degree and several years of experience in higher education, including teaching and leadership.</p> <p>Recommended Competencies</p> <p>Proficiency in using and advising faculty on various technologies, including learning management systems (LMS) and online/hybrid course design;</p> <p>The ability to plan, develop, and coordinate training, workshops, and mentoring programs for both new and experienced faculty and teaching assistants;</p> <p>The capacity to develop a clear vision for the TLC that aligns with institutional goals and to create and implement strategic plans for continuous improvement; and,</p> <p>The ability to foster collaboration among various units, build effective teams, and work co-operatively with colleagues with differing opinions.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>A Doctorate degree in fields like pedagogy, educational technology, or a related discipline.</p> <p>Pay Plan</p> <p>This is a Faculty position.</p> <p>Conditions of Employment</p> <p>Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. Additionally, if currently employed by the State, this law prohibits the promotion of such person.
