<p>Job Summary The Maintenance Coordinator, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, will primarily be responsible for coordinating preventative maintenance schedules, performing daily preventive maintenance tasks, and planning daily maintenance activities. The maintenance coordinator will work closely with the production teams to ensure machine downtime does not negatively affect production. The coordinator will be responsible for controlling the parts inventory and will ensure the required materials are in house prior to work being performed on machinery. Job Duties</p> <p>Ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency Ensure maintenance activities meet production schedules, safety and quality standards. Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust maintenance schedules to react to daily production requirements. Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times Mark, record, and report defective products Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality, and safety Establish shipping method and arrange for the shipping of materials Inspect and verify shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off; reject damaged goods Accurately and appropriately file correspondence, invoices, and receipts Report any discrepancies in inventory to management Tag, mark, or label stock items and ensure they are placed in correct storage location Other duties, as assigned.</p> <p>Position Requirements</p> <p>Minimum grade 12 or equivalent education Strong mechanical background is an asset. Strong personal Computer skills - working knowledge of Microsoft applications. Capability to read, interpret and utilize blueprints and drawings Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation. Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals and specifications. Ability to work independently in a busy environment. Experience with routine maintenance operations. Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Able to work well under pressure. Strong attention to detail. Knowledge of safe operating procedures. Self-starter, with developed analytical and troubleshooting skills. Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.</p> <p>Competencies</p> <p>Time management Planning and organizing Problem solving Development and continual learning Accountability and dependability Decision making and judgement Operating equipment Mathematical reasoning Research and analysis Enforcing laws, rules and regulations</p> <p>Physical Requirements/Working Conditions</p> <p>Ability to lift 20-50 lbs frequently Ability to lift up to 70 lbs occasionally Continuous standing Use of hands and feet to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, controls, press buttons, levers and pedals Bending, twisting and reaching Repetitive movement Frequent walking Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, gloves and any other protective equipment deemed necessary. Work indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions</p> <p>Work in hot conditions or cold temperatures Exposure to sounds and noise levels that can be distracting or uncomfortable Exposure to minor cuts or burns Exposure to contaminants Exposure to hazardous equipment</p> <p>Work with others in a group or team Overtime may be required. Call-ins may be required. Travel may be required.</p>
