<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Non-Instructional</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/20/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Coop Arts & Humanities High School</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Arts Director Job Description</p> <p>The Arts Director oversees the artistic learning experience of 650 students attending one of only two public performing and visual arts high schools in Connecticut, specifically in Visual Arts, Creative Writing, Dance, Theatre, Choir, Band, and String Orchestra.</p> <p>The Arts Director serves as the primary coordinator for student recruitment efforts in conjunction with the NHPS Choice and Enrollment Office, all school social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X), and ensures compliance with all State of Connecticut magnet school requirements, including timely submission of all required state reports and paperwork. The Arts Director also leads the process for applying for national magnet school recognition.</p> <p>This position is the point person for all school performances, working directly with the Shubert Theatre representative to ensure smooth operations and coordination of all performance needs. The Arts Director oversees the ACES budget and the school's revolving bank account in concert with school administration, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. They also support the day-to-day updates to the school website. They maintain the school-wide calendar in concert with school administrators, prioritizing student and school community needs first. The Arts Director will also work with CAPA (The Connecticut Association for the Performing Arts, Inc. C/O Shubert Theatre) per the management agreement to schedule all performance spaces. The Arts Director will support all fundraising and school-wide events, including the coronation dance and proms.</p> <p>The Arts Director develops and coordinates professional development opportunities in collaboration with community partners for the entire school and for specific departments as needed. They support the integration of arts throughout all school programming, including traditional academics and arts classes. The Arts Director is the point person for all Yale art partnerships and remains the point person for the CAS program and after-school programming. The position reports directly to the Principal and Assistant Principal.</p> <p>The workday is flexible to accommodate after-school and evening performances, and the Arts Director will serve as the on-site lead for all such events.</p> <p>Qualifications: BA or Better. Arts Experience required</p> <p>Reports to: School Principal</p> <p>Terms of Employment: 12-Month Executive Management (Non-Union)</p> <p>Salary: $90,000.00</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate all student recruitment efforts in conjunction with the NHPS Choice and Enrollment Office. </li><li>Manage all school social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X). </li><li>Ensure compliance with State of Connecticut magnet school regulations, including timely submission of all required reports. </li><li>Lead the application process for national magnet school recognition. </li><li>Serve as the point person for all school performances, coordinating with the Shubert Theatre and other venues. </li><li>Oversee the Arts budget and the school's revolving bank account in concert with school administration (record keeping, deposits, reimbursements). </li><li>Support the day-to-day updates to the school website. </li><li>Maintain the school-wide calendar in collaboration with partners and school administrators, prioritizing student and community needs. </li><li>Work with CAPA (The Connecticut Association for the Performing Arts, Inc.
