<p>Position Type:</p> <p>After School Program/After School Programs</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>7/18/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Nathan Hale Arts Magnet School</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>REPORTS TO: District Coordinator - Out of School Programs</p> <p>PERFORMANCE EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Non-Certified Staff</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time/ School Year</p> <p>PRIMARY FUNCTION: Works successfully under the direction of the District Coordinator to safely manage a group of students, plan and deliver age appropriate, hand-on, high quality enrichment activities during the Year-Round breaks.</p> <ul> <li>YR breaks are every 6 weeks throughout the year. The camp is 2 weeks long every 6 weeks and runs Monday through Friday from 8:30am-3:30pm. *Hours may vary </li></ul> <p>TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>This description of the position of Year-Round Camp Supervision - Out of School Programs is for identification and administrative purposes only. It is not intended to be a complete statement of all duties, which may be assigned or adjusted by the Superintendent of Schools according to varying needs.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Managing daily operations of the out-of-school programs and activities at building site including</p> </li><li> <p>Breakfast, snack and lunch distribution/counts.</p> </li><li> <p>Student supervision.</p> </li><li> <p>Student attendance.</p> </li><li> <p>Development of enrichment activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Work closely with school administration, staff, and teachers to ensure smooth operation of the program.</p> </li><li> <p>Create and foster a high-quality program that implements age-appropriate activities and projects to support the school's magnet pathway and school day learning.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and maintain a high level of communication and positive relationships with students, families, principal, teachers, school staff, and program staff at building site.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend professional development and training workshops and staff meetings as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Consistently provide a friendly, professional, courteous environment where students and families feel welcome.</p> </li><li> <p>Respect cultural diversity and create an inclusive, welcoming, and collaborative environment</p> </li><li> <p>Submit an accurate time sheet bi-weekly on day indicated to the District Coordinator.</p> </li><li> <p>Assume such other functions as may be determined.</p> </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>Strong communication and organization skills </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively, be self-directed, and problem-solve </li><li>Maturity, responsibility, professionalism, and sincere interest in working with school-aged children </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Associates degree </li><li>Experience with school aged children and/or after-school programming and activities </li></ul> <p>SALARY: $21.00 an hour</p> <p>New London Public School District is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.</p> <p>Candidates from diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply.</p>
