The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $115,000 with a Sunday through Thursday schedule.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Executive Director is responsible for the efficient operations and overall management and direction of the day-to-day functions of the Community in accordance with federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to assure that the highest degree of quality care and service is provided to our residents. Hire, evaluate, coordinate, monitor performance, schedule and supervise staff in accordance with company policy. Make decisions with respect to staff evaluations, merit pay increases, reprimands, disciplinary actions and terminations. The Executive Director is also responsible for achieving and maintaining budgeted occupancy, representing the Community to the local Community and the Home Office and creating a supportive and enjoyable lifestyle for the residents.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the basic functions of the position. Other duties may be assigned. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.</p> <ul> <li>Promote the mission, values and beliefs of Carlton Senior Living LLC. </li><li>Assume the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the overall management and control of the activities and programs of the Community, its residents and financial assets. </li><li>Delegate administrative authority and responsibility for day-to-day operations to personnel in charge when absent from Community. </li><li>In compliance with Title 22 requirement assume or assign responsibility for a 10 minute response time to Community needs 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. </li><li>Familiar with and responsible for the Community's compliance with corporate policies and procedures, as well as all laws, regulations, and legal requirements governing the operation of the Community. </li><li>Interpret the Community's policies and procedures to employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc., as necessary. </li><li>Observe work environment for potential injury hazards and take appropriate preventative safety precautions. Implement Community safety program/committee. Actively participate in prevention, reporting and effective management of Workers' Comp. Claims. </li><li>Hire, evaluate, coordinate, train, monitor performance, schedule and supervise staff in accordance with Title 22 regulations, labor law and company policy. </li><li>Make recommendations as required to the immediate manager with respect to staff evaluations, merit pay increases, reprimands, disciplinary action and terminations. </li><li>Ensure that employees are given the necessary resources to carry out their prescribed duties in an efficient and economical manner. </li><li>Maintain the physical Community and services necessary to support the safety, health, and well being of the residents accepted for admission. </li><li>Assure that residents accepted are at appropriate level for Community licensure and maintain proper resident mix for the long term success of the Community. </li><li>Complete weekly Community Progress Report. </li><li>Effectively market the Community to assure that budgeted rent-up and occupancy goals are achieved and maintained, including outside sales calls. </li><li>Promote Carlton Senior Living, Inc. in a positive manner and effectively communicate the organization's values to residents, visitors, co-workers and the Community. </li><li>Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments. </li><li>Support a positive and professional image through actions and appearance. </li><li>Create a positive, uplifting, cheerful yet professional business environment regardless of external or internal pressure or demands. </li><li>Represent the Community in dealings with outside agencies, including governmental agencies and third party payers, or provide an authorized representative of the Community when unable to attend such meeting(s). </li><li>Participate in Community surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies. </li><li>Review and develop a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such plan to the governing board and ombudsman representative as required. </li><li>Consult with department managers concerning the operation of their departments to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas and/or improvement of services. </li><li>Ensure that corrective action is administered fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, religion, handicap, or marital status. </li><li>Ensure that the building and grounds are maintained in good repair and the physical appearance of both is in excellent condition. </li><li>Review accident/incident reports and establish an effective accident prevention program. </li><li>Authorize the purchase of major equipment/supplies in accordance with established purchasing policies and procedures. </li><li>Assist in the preparation of an annual operating budget for approval by the senior management team and allocate the resources to carry out programs and activities of the Community. </li><li>Working knowledge of California Employment Law, benefit administration and payroll. Sufficient skill level to stand in for Associate Director in the event of his/her absence. </li><li>Review resident complaints and grievances and make written reports of action taken. Discuss with resident and family as appropriate. </li><li>Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards as outlined in the Safety First manual. </li><li>Conduct daily, weekly, monthly meetings as appropriate per Policy and Procedure and Community need for all staff, residents, and family. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Manages 10 - 12 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 60-100 employees in the following Departments: Administration, Activities, Dining Room, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Marketing, Personal Care, Memory Care and Medications. </li><li>Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this business unit. </li><li>Also may directly supervise 3-4 non-supervisory employees. </li><li>Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. </li><li>Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in healthcare, human services or administration, or in a related field; </li><li>One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li><li>Minimum of three (3) years of experience in administration and supervision in assisted living, long-term care, or residential facility. </li><li>Experience in public speaking and sales and marketing. </li></ul> <p>COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. </li><li>Interact with our customers - including residents, family members, and all staff members - according to the concepts identified by the Carlton Commitments. </li></ul> <p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. </li><li>Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Knowledge and understanding of budgets. </li><li>Must have the ability to maintain or supervise the maintenance of accurate financial or other records. </li></ul> <p>REASONING ABILITY</p> <ul> <li>Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. </li><li>Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. </li></ul> <p>TECHNICAL SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in computer word processing </li><li>Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) </li><li>Familiarity with MoveN and PSP. </li><li>Must be familiar with DSS Title 22 regulations and be able to conform to all regulations regarding resident care and supervision. </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Current First Aid Certification </li><li>Current R.C.F.E. licensure </li><li>According to the DSS regulations must be knowledgeable of the requirements for providing care and supervision for the Community's residents </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Must be a minimum of 21 years old. </li><li>Must possess and maintain a current 40-hour Administrator Certificate </li><li>Is required to have on file DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearances </li><li>Is required to have on file a health screening and negative TB test, which must be no more than six (6) months old </li><li>Must maintain good character and a continuing reputation for personal integrity. </li></ul> <p>Carlton Senior Living's Commitment to Pay Transparency</p> <p>Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
