<p>Job Description</p> <p>Gang Prevention Case Manager Time Limited</p> <p>$51,531.00 - $77,299.00 *DOE</p> <ul> <li>All job-related experience must be included on the resume portion for it to be considered in the salary offer. </li></ul> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>School based advocates will provide case management and direct client services to gang involved youth and families. Assists in program development, community education and resource development.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, social or behavioral sciences or other related field; and two (2) years of experience working with high-risk youth; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.</p> <p>Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required Sheriff's Office pre-employment background check.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Provides gang specific case management, family support and gang prevention, intervention and desistance services to gang involved youth and families. </li><li>Meets with clients weekly in a school based setting. </li><li>Follows the Choose Gang Free (CGF) program structure. </li><li>Communicates effectively with members of treatment team. </li><li>Maintains accurate case files (physical and electronic). </li><li>Reports progress to student support meetings. </li><li>Attends weekly team meetings/case staffing. </li><li>Follows all Law Enforcement Bureau (LEB) policies and CGF Advocate Code of Ethics. </li><li>Provides community and faculty gang education and prevention training. </li><li>Participates as a member of local gang reduction coordinating bodies. </li><li>Assists in program, community education and resource development. </li><li>Provides reports for Juvenile and Family courts as needed </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)</p> <p>Knowledge of:</p> <ul> <li>Gang culture and family dynamics. </li><li>Juvenile Justice Process </li><li>What Works Principles </li><li>Motivational Interviewing techniques </li><li>Local gang issues </li><li>How to identify gang signs, symbols, graffiti, colors etc. </li><li>All Law Enforcement Bureau (LEB) and CGF Advocate Code of Ethics </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities to:</p> <ul> <li>Network effectively with a variety of types of organizations, including government agencies, schools, social service agencies, law enforcement, courts/probations/corrections, grassroots organizations </li><li>Understand and explain factors leading to gang involvement, community dynamics and history </li><li>Fully explain the Juvenile Court and Justice System processes </li><li>Accurately conduct an evidence-based Youth Risk Assessment </li><li>Demonstrate organization, administration and personnel management skills </li><li>Exercise judgment regarding appropriate information sharing, confidentiality requirements, and human relations </li><li>Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing </li><li>Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work </li><li>Work independently under minimal supervision </li><li>Meeting facilitation, conflict resolution, and consensus-building </li><li>Work effectively with diverse populations </li><li>Use of personal computers and related software applications </li><li>Perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p>
