<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Program Overview:</p> <p>Metrex Summer Internship Program offers undergraduate students hands-on experience in research, formulation, analytical testing, and product development within a regulated research & development environment. Interns will work alongside experienced scientists and engineers to support the development and testing of healthcare consumables and related infection prevention products. This program is designed to provide real-world laboratory experience, exposure to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and insight into medical and dental product development process.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Execute design of experiments (DOE) and conduct assigned laboratory experiments using established protocols </li><li>Perform formula stability testing, material compatibility testing, and product performance evaluations </li><li>Operate laboratory instrumentation such as auto-titrator, GC, HPLC, Instron, and other related analytical testing tools </li><li>Prepare test samples, reagents, and standards following SOPs </li><li>Accurately record, organize, and analyze experimental data, maintaining complete and compliant laboratory notebooks </li><li>Summarize results and deliver technical presentations or written summaries to the project team </li><li>Participate in weekly laboratory meetings, monthly technical review, 5s and other laboratory safety training </li><li>Provide general laboratory support and assist with additional R&D tasks as needed </li></ul> <p>Key Learning Outcomes:</p> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience with chemical formulation and product characterization </li><li>Experience documenting work in a GLP environment </li><li>Understanding of product development lifecycle from concept and feasibility testing to sustainment </li><li>Exposure to cross-functional work (Product Management, Regulatory, Procurement, Operations, etc.) </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Junior or senior undergraduate student who is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related scientific discipline </li><li>Prior hands-on laboratory experience (academic, internship, or co-op) </li><li>Ability to follow detailed experimental protocols and safety procedures </li><li>Strong attention to detail with clear written and verbal communication </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint </li><li>Strong organizational and time-management skills </li><li>Curiosity and willingness to learn in a technical environment </li></ul> <p>Target Market Salary Range:</p> <p>Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
