<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under the general supervision of the Buildings/Grounds Superintendent, the Security Officer 4 is responsible for providing safety, security, fire and alarm monitoring and response for the members, staff, guests and physical property of the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King (WVHK). The incumbent has responsibility in one of the following specific areas of emphasis: staff training; dispatch; member records and information; and special equipment/wandering member information.</p> <p>Click the link to view a copy of the full job description.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Starting wage is $21.42 per hour with additional compensation for nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. (pay structure, differential, any additional applicable pay provisions).</p> <p>This job does not offer employee benefits.</p> <p>Security Officer 4 is in pay schedule-pay range 05-11.</p> <p>This position is not represented by a bargaining unit.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>LTE jobs have no guaranteed hours or shifts.</p> <p>LTE jobs are limited to 1039 hours in a 12-month period, are based on operational need, and can end at any time.</p> <p>LTE's will be filling in for vacations and covering vacancies in a 24/7 facility, including weekends and holidays. This position will primarily be responsible for the following specific areas of emphasis: staff training, dispatch, member records and information, and special equipment/wandering member information.</p> <p>Physical and environmental conditions and requirements include but are not limited to:</p> <p>Physical conditions vary dependent on weather, situational factors, and scheduled duties. Patrol and response to dispatch calls can require moving across varied terrain and interior environments ranging from multiple-story staircases to small, confined spaces. Routine assignments can require moving traffic barricades weighing up to 35 pounds and measuring up to 12 feet in length. Emergency situations can require ability to move quickly and lift and carry scoop stretcher with people of varying weights. Duties require the ability to perform a variety of routine physical activities on a frequent basis (e.g., lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, etc.).</p> <p>These requirements cover the major and essential functions of the position but are not necessarily representative of all duties which this position may be assigned to perform.</p> <p>Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment.</p> <p>Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Per Wisconsin Statute 230.26, Wisconsin residency is required for LTE appointments. Use this link for Wisconsin Limited Term Employment requirements.</p> <p>The required qualifications are:</p> <p>Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver's license</p> <p>Meet minimum standards for driving a state vehicle according to Department of Administration's Central Fleet policies</p> <p>The preferred qualifications are:</p> <p>Experience working in a 24/7 facility, including nights, weekends, holidays and emergency response situations.</p> <p>Experience operating large and small motorized equipment, such as patrol vehicles or utility carts, in a safe and responsible manner.</p> <p>Experience working outdoors in all weather conditions, including conducting patrols and responding to incidents during inclement weather and low-visibility conditions.</p> <p>Experience following safety procedures, including incident response, reporting requirements, and adherence to life safety and facility policies.</p> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>You must apply online on WiscJobs.
