<p>Adjunct Faculty - Psychology of Exercise & Sport The School of Health Sciences at Lasell University is seeking part-time faculty member for Exercise Science. The School of Health Sciences offers a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science at the undergraduate level. The major immerses students in a CoAES-accredited curriculum that provides a comprehensive understanding of Exercise Science (exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, clinical and laboratory exercise testing, performance assessment, and fitness and wellness principles) to address the multi-disciplinary nature of the field of exercise science. The current listing is for in-person classes that are already scheduled. Current Openings include: PSYC245 Psychology of Exercise & Sport Tuesday & Thursday 11am - 12:15pm PSYC245 Course: This course explores key psychological principles that influence athletic performance, exercise behavior, and long-term physical activity engagement. Students will examine topics such as motivation, arousal regulation, stress and anxiety management, attention and focus, and the psychological components of achieving an ideal performance state. Emphasis is placed on the role of personality, emotion, and attribution in shaping exercise behavior, as well as strategies for motor skill acquisition and learning. The course also investigates how physical activity drives neural adaptations affecting cognitive function, mood, sleep quality, stress response, and pain perception. Through hands-on projects and applied learning, students will develop practical skills for designing evidence-based 2 interventions that enhance performance, improve adherence to exercise, and support mental and physical well-being across diverse athletic and exercise settings. Responsibilities and Duties: Proficiency in maintaining an organized Canvas page and ability to deliver engaging course material. Provide instruction for all sessions of assigned courses utilizing the college philosophy of connected learning. Provide a syllabus and course outline to students that clearly communicates course learning outcomes. Maintain office hours each week and timely communications with students via email and phone Keep accurate records of student progress (grades) and complete mid-semester and final grade reports.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Psychology, Exercise Science, Athletic Training, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred). </li><li>Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience either in the classroom or industry. </li><li>Preference will also be given to those with certifications: Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) </li></ul> <p>Application Process:</p> <p>Please submit the following materials</p> <ul> <li>Cover letter describing qualifications </li><li>Curriculum vitae or resume </li><li>Contact information for at least two professional references </li></ul> <p>Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.</p>
