May specialize in School Nursing, School Social Work, School Psychology, or other types of Special Service Provider roles.</p> <p>Dates & Hours:</p> <ul> <li>June 9th - July 3rd 2025 (8 hrs per day) </li></ul> <p>Sites:</p> <ul> <li>Academia Ana Marie Sandoval - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm </li><li>Barnum Elementary - 8:00 am - 4:00 pm </li><li>Holm Elementary - 8:00 am - 4:00 pm </li><li>McGlone Academy - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm </li><li>Omar D. Blair Charter - 8:00 am - 4:00 pm </li><li>Sabin World School - 9:00 am- 5:00 pm </li><li>Stedman Elementary - 8:00 am - 4:00 pm </li></ul> <p>What DPS Offers You:</p> <ul> <li>A Culture that values Equity, Accountability, Integrity, Collaboration and Fun with a shared vision that Every Student Will Succeed. </li><li>Salary: $47.26 per hour </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for providing social and emotional support to students participating in Summer Programs. Meets with students who were engaged in conflict to support them in resolving it, helping students who are dysregulated to de-escalate. </li><li>Responds to referrals and or reported cases from teachers, administrators, other school personnel, parents, students, self, and community agencies such as the Department of Human Services </li><li>Respond to student safety concerns through the use of appropriate student safety protocols aligned with district training </li><li>Serves as a liaison between students, homes, schools, family services, child guidance clinics, courts, protective services, doctors, and other contacts, to help children who face problems such as disabilities, abuse, or poverty during the summer program </li><li>Provide assistance and or referral students, families, or staff regarding issues including mental health, poverty, unemployment, substance abuse, physical abuse, rehabilitation, social adjustment, child care, or medical care. </li><li>Consult with parents, teachers, and other school personnel to determine causes of problems such as truancy and misbehavior, and to implement solutions such as high-fidelity implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIPs) </li></ul> <p>What You'll Need:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Nursing, Required </li><li>School Psychologist: Hold a Master's Degree or higher in School Psychology AND Current Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider License </li><li>School Social Workers: Have a Master's Degree in Social Work AND Current Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider License - School Social Work. </li><li>Nursing: Master's Degree, preferred. </li><li>1 (one) or more years of previous school special services experience is preferred </li><li>Experience working with families, including the administration of developmental and family assessments </li><li>Current Colorado Special Service Provider License with an endorsement in Social Work, School Psychology or Nursing, Required. </li><li>Knowledge using Google Suite (Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Gmail, etc.) </li><li>Effective time management and organizational skills </li><li>Effective communication skills </li><li>Strong attention to detail </li><li>Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines </li><li>The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance </li><li>Work collaboratively with others on a team </li><li>Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and fast-paced environment </li><li>Cultural and linguistic awareness and sensitivity of diverse populations is essential. </li><li>High skill level in mental health techniques and strategies. </li><li>Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. </li><li>Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us. </li><li>Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position. </li></ul> <p>Denver Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender expression, and sexual orientation), parental status, national origin, age, disability, genetic information (including family medical history), political affiliation, military service, or any other status protected by law or regulations.
