<p>Director Business Development, Government</p> <p>Location: Hybrid (Denver, CO preferred) | Travel: ~25% (CO, DC, LA,)</p> <p>Clearance: TS/SCI (or TS with SCI eligibility)</p> <p>Compensation: $160-180K base + commission (up to 2x base)</p> <p>Start Date: ASAP</p> <p>About the Role</p> <p>We're looking for a driven, entrepreneurial Director of Government Sales & BD to lead our growth in the government sector for our startup client. You'll build relationships with DoD, Intel, and commercial partners, drive capture efforts, and shape our B2B2G strategy. This is a hands-on role focused on execution-ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, understands early-stage challenges, and is passionate about solving hard problems.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Capture & Proposal Management: Lead end-to-end capture efforts, from opportunity identification to RFP response. </li><li>Strategic Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with government stakeholders (DoD, Intel, Civil) and commercial primes. </li><li>B2B2G Strategy: Execute go-to-market strategies with commercial partners to access government opportunities. </li><li>Product Feedback: Provide insights to product teams on government user needs and pain points. </li><li>Compliance & Risk: Ensure proposals meet all regulatory requirements and manage associated risks. </li><li>Performance Tracking: Report on pipeline, win rates, and KPIs; own a $5M annual quota tied to clear objectives. </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For</p> <ul> <li>Experience: 8-10+ years in government BD/capture; startup or small business experience strongly preferred. </li><li>Track Record: Proven success securing government contracts and navigating complex proposal processes. </li><li>Knowledge: Deep understanding of DoD and Intel procurement; civil space can be learned. </li><li>Skills: Excellent communicator, strategic thinker, persistent problem-solver. </li><li>Tools: Familiar with CRM, proposal tools, and government procurement platforms. </li><li>Certifications: PMP, APMP a plus. </li></ul> <p>Why Join this team?</p> <ul> <li>Define and build the BD playbook from the ground up. </li><li>Work directly with leadership and shape the future of our government strategy. </li><li>Flexible hybrid schedule with high-impact travel. </li><li>Performance-based compensation with clear objectives. </li></ul>
