<p>About the Opportunity</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>The Apfeld Lab in the Biology Department in the College of Science is seeking a Research Technician to investigate how genes work together to determine the lifespan of the nematode C. elegans. Our lab integrates genetics, live imaging, quantitative analysis, and computational approaches to uncover the molecular mechanisms regulating aging and longevity.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>The Research Technician will contribute to ongoing research projects exploring genetic interactions that influence lifespan, generate transgenic nematodes, perform lifespan assays, and assist in data analysis and publication of findings. Additional responsibilities include maintaining laboratory operations, preparing stock solutions and media, and mentoring undergraduate students.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics/Genomics, Neurobiology/Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Microbiology required.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in molecular biology and with C. elegans genetics</p> </li><li> <p>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Attention to detail and training in research methodology and quantitative data analysis.</p> </li></ul> <p>Applicants should upload their resume and cover letter as part of the application.</p> <p>Position Type</p> <p>Research</p> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Northeastern University considers factors such as candidate work experience, education and skills when extending an offer.</p> <p>Northeastern has a comprehensive benefits package for benefit eligible employees.
