<p>The Bookstore Assistant will support the Bookstore Manager in the day to day operations of the Iowa Central Bookstore by assisting with purchasing and retail sales. The Bookstore Coordinator must possess good computer, math and analytical skills in order to better run a modern, financially sound operation. The Bookstore Coordinator will promote friendly, quality service to students, staff and the public while maintaining a pleasant retail environment.</p> <p>Constant (67-100%)</p> <ul> <li>Provide quality service to students, staff and the public. </li><li>Serve as cashier </li><li>Assist with all aspects related to student devices, including issuing to student, returning from student, minor troubleshooting issues, monitoring inventory, keeping accurate records of devices issued, resetting returned devices, charging unused devices monthly, and accessories. </li><li>Respond to customer phone calls and emails in a timely manner (daily). </li></ul> <p>Frequent (34-66%)</p> <ul> <li>Be responsible for unloading shipments of merchandise. </li></ul> <p>Occasional (10-33%)</p> <ul> <li>Assist with selling play and musical tickets. </li><li>Assist with the fiscal year end inventory process. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Be able and willing to represent Iowa Central Community College in a positive manner with prospective, former, and current students, clients, suppliers, and the community we serve.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the manager in the daily operations of the physical College Bookstore</p> </li><li> <p>Provide quality service to students, faculty, staff, and the general public.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain pleasant working conditions.</p> </li><li> <p>Assume responsibility and exercise independent judgment when making decisions.</p> </li><li> <p>Learn accurate knowledge of books that are used for the classroom.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess a high level of organizational skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess strong analytical, computer and financial skills.</p> </li></ol> <p>Associate degree preferred. Retail experience preferred. Strong math and computer skills. Must possess excellent customer service skills as well as organizational, communication, and human relations skills.</p> <p>GENERAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH OR WITHOUT A REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:</p> <p>Position involves constant (67-100%) viewing computer screen, lifting heavy boxes, talking to or listening to persons over the telephone, standing, kneeling, grasping, reaching, walking, stooping, and typing; frequent (34-66%) close visual work, loading and unloading book carts, boxing and unboxing book and supply cartons, some general upkeep of the facilities, such as cleaning, vacuuming, decorating, and emptying trash; occasional (10-33%) lifting (boxes - up to 50 pounds), climbing on ladder, some travel time, tornado drills, and some general knowledge of hazardous chemicals.</p> <p>The statements contained herein reflect general details as necessary to describe the essential job duties/responsibilities and performance expectations of the job, which should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements.
