As a Kafka software engineer, you know that organizing data streams and events can yield pivotal insights when they're gathered from disparate sources.</p> <p>We need an experienced Kafka engineer like you to help our clients deliver the critical data supporting the IRS. As a Kafka engineer at Booz Allen, you'll implement data streaming engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You'll develop data pipelines, streams and connectors that organize and make disparate data meaningful. You will be deeply involved with transforming the way in which data will be produced, consumed, and shared across the portfolio. You will use your skills and past experiences to help push forward our modernization efforts to an event-driven architecture enabling processes to be more efficient and timelier with sharing information and processing benefits. As a senior Kafka software engineer at Booz Allen, you'll use the latest architectural approaches and open-source frameworks and tools to deliver solutions. The world can't wait.</p> <p>You Have:?</p> <ul> <li> <p>10+ years of experience in IT, software development, and architecting solutions</p> </li><li> <p>7+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining complex data applications at enterprise scale</p> </li><li> <p>5+ years of experience with design and development with Kafka and Kafka stream processing technologies, including Confluent</p> </li><li> <p>5+ years of experience with Kafka connectors, KSQLDB, and Schema Registry</p> </li><li> <p>5+ years of experience with applying event-driven architecture patterns and Kafka best practices for enterprise systems</p> </li><li> <p>4+ years of experience architecting and integrating high-throughput data pipelines with Oracle databases, including LogMiner-based CDC, and AWS RDS, in distributed environments</p> </li><li> <p>4+ years of experience with DevOps tooling, pipelines, and building containerized applications to run in a Kubernetes environment</p> </li><li> <p>3+ years of experience with automated unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing, including Test Driven Development (TDD)</p> </li><li> <p>IRS Moderate Risk Background Investigation (IRS MBI)</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's in Computer Science</p> </li></ul> <p>Nice If You Have:</p> <ul> <li> <p>5+ years of experience with distributed data and computing tools, including Spark, Databricks, or Hadoop</p> </li><li> <p>5+ years of experience with NoSQL implementation, including MongoDB or Cassandra</p> </li><li> <p>5+ years of experience with data warehousing, including AWS Redshift, MySQL, or Snowflake</p> </li><li> <p>5+ years of experience with UNIX and Linux, including basic commands and Shell scripting</p> </li><li> <p>5+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices</p> </li><li> <p>5+ years of experience with AWS</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with Agile methodology, extreme programming, software engineering, product management, and software products</p> </li><li> <p>Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to quickly solve problems, discuss technical solutions, and devise an overarching technical strategy</p> </li><li> <p>Masters degree</p> </li></ul> <p>Vetting:</p> <p>Applicants selected must possess an active IRS Moderate Risk Background Investigation (IRS MBI) and meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client; IRS MBI is required.</p> <p>Compensation</p> <p>At Booz Allen, we celebrate your contributions, provide you with opportunities and choices, and support your total well-being. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
