<p>Supervises the cases and maintains the contact for all Plymouth Public School students with special needs who are placed in collaborative, private Chapter 766 special needs schools, group residencies, hospitals, or juvenile detention facilities. Assists the Assistant Director of Special Education and special needs TEAMS in locating and securing appropriate programs for students with special needs whose needs cannot be met in district. Acts as the district contact pertaining to all matters regarding Plymouth Public School students with special needs placed outside of the district. Acts as the school district's liaison to state agencies, courts, and hospitals regarding all students who are placed outside of the school district. Acts as special needs TEAM Chairperson at all TEAM meetings regarding Plymouth Public School students with special needs who are placed in collaborative, Chapter 766 private school placements, group homes, DYS facilities, etc. Maintains accurate records including, but not limited to individualized education plans (IEPS), reports, and other required legal documentation for all students with special needs who are placed out of district for purposes of special education. Processes all data and additional documentation within required timelines regarding the Department of Education and Plymouth Public Schools guidelines in order to maintain compliance and secure appropriate funding via cost-shared arrangements or other financial arrangements. Assists in arranging and monitors the transportation for all students with special needs students who require placements outside of the school district. Provides assistance in projecting the budgetary costs for students who are placed in out-of-district placements. Arranges for extended school year services for those students placed in out-of-district programs who require such services. Arranges for monitoring and inspecting of out-of-district placements in accordance with Chapter 766 regulations. Identifies and supports the transition of those students with special needs who require a lesser restrictive setting. Assists with making the arrangements for TEAM meetings of students with special needs who may be out of district in accordance with appropriate regulations. Keeps current with all legal and regulatory changes from the Department of Education and other state agencies regarding students with special needs.</p>
