<p>Systems Engineer</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Systems Engineer to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Work with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers to execute all phases of the systems engineering process:</p> <ul> <li>Define concepts of operations (CONOPS) for various new proposed programs and refine existing CONOPS for existing programs </li><li>Define top-level requirements for systems and systems-of-systems, as well as decomposing subsequent levels of requirements for subsystems </li><li>Track defined requirements against testable and verifiable milestones as the program evolves </li><li>Define system technical performance measures, including KPPs, TPMs, MOEs, and MOPs, and support their tracking over time </li><li>Define use cases and flow diagrams in a Model Based Systems Engineering environment </li><li>Translate roles and responsibilities defined though concept development into use case activity diagrams </li><li>Perform detailed behavioral development for the system of interest </li><li>Develop functional architectures and associated interfaces to support lower level physical architectural development </li><li>Define and track programs risks, including mitigation plans to reduce program risk over time </li><li>As needed, support test plan generation and execution in collaboration with our Test and Evaluation Group </li><li>Support the definition and refinement of processes within Aurora to improve systems engineering and program workflow </li><li>Guide the design of architectures for current and future Aurora programs, including both manned and unmanned vehicles (aircraft and otherwise) and various forms of autonomous systems </li><li>Support business development opportunities and the execution of research for military and commercial customers </li><li>Support Program Managers in program proposals, program planning, and program execution </li><li>Contribute to proposals, reports, and presentations where Systems Engineering issues are relevant </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university </li><li>3+ years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering (Master's degree is considered to be equivalent) </li><li>Demonstrated success in a highly collaborative environment </li><li>Excellent English written and oral communications skills </li><li>Must be a US Person </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Experience with SE processes in all phases of the development lifecycle </li><li>Demonstrated experience working with a tailored Systems Engineering approach </li><li>Experience using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools </li><li>Experience in developing executable SysML Models </li><li>Familiarity with military airworthiness certification processes (MIL-HDBC-516C) and/or familiarity with civilian certification processes (RTCA DO-178C, SAE ARP4754) </li><li>Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) </li><li>Experience with one or more of software architecting, development, or verification testing. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Occasionally required to work non-business hours to support experiments (testing, experiments, demonstration, or other activities) as well as and travel to customer sites. </li><li>Candidates should expect to travel up to 20% of their time. </li><li>Multiple geographic options available. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range (Annualized USD)</p> <ul> <li>Minimum Range: $73,000.00 to $129,000.00 </li><li>Maximum Range: $87,000.00 to $154,000.00 </li></ul>
