Directs the activities of the Purchase Order Management, Flow of Goods and the Merchandise support department. Partners with the Business Enablement team along with the Manager of Office services. Serves as a liaison and troubleshooter between Merchandising and all H.O. departments that impact the purchasing and ticketing of product. Develops processes to measure productivity of associates and the departments in order to achieve the goals of consistent, excellent support of Buyers, maximizing efficiencies in the support world to include accuracy and efficiency of purchase orders.</p> <p>Major Areas of Responsibility</p> <ul> <li>Create and maintain an environment where associates feel welcome, valued and engaged; Recognize, appreciate and leverage individual differences that contribute to the benefit of the team and the business. </li><li>Actively partners with key internal and external stakeholders (buying, operations, logistics, satellite office counterparts), to understand and monitor Purchase order entry process </li><li>Directs the overall management activities and development within the merchandise support department </li><li>Works with MOMs and supervisor to ensure consistent standards of performance for execution of operational details </li><li>Reviews and assesses internal and or external processes and procedures, and communicates findings to business counterparts </li><li>Ensures consistent standards for hiring, training, and performance evaluation </li><li>Partners with learning and development to develop new hire training, roll out of new business tools, and support ongoing development of staff </li><li>Partners with Logistics and accounts payable to ensure execution of procedures that maximize efficiencies and accuracy for the writing and modification of POs </li><li>Recognizes opportunities for and partners to develop automation </li><li>Actively involved in the design of new systems that ultimately expedite the entry of PO's both in HO and satellite buying offices </li><li>Supports MOMs and Supervisor to continually react to shifting priorities of the business. Updates procedures and policies to ensure the most efficient entry of POs </li><li>Develop and maintain strong working partnerships with GMMs, MMs, Buyers and MOMS in order to help ensure appropriate staffing and workload coverage </li><li>Coaches the MOMs in the development of their skills </li><li>Represents TJX to external partners independently or with Manager that supports the operations department </li></ul> <p>Who We Are Looking For: You.</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 5 years of leadership experience (Merchandise Operations or Store Manager) with proven experience in talent planning and development. </li><li>Experience with cross divisional strategic initiatives. </li><li>Strong knowledge of TJX business model, including P&A, DC Services, Transportation. </li><li>Manager Support, along with Interview with CBO HR, DVP, </li><li>Demonstrates the following critical skills: </li><li>Strong prioritization, strategic and organizational skills </li><li>Problem solving and Follow-through - across multiple stakeholders </li><li>Strong relationship building skills, across multiple levels and distance </li><li>Strong talent assessment and development skills </li><li>Training and Coaching skills - with Managers, Supervisors and MAs </li><li>Passion for Operations and/or Buying Support </li></ul> <p>Benefits include Associate discount; 401(k) match; medical/dental/vision; HSA; health care FSA; life insurance; short/long-term disability; paid holidays/vacation /sick/bereavement/parental leave; EAP; incentive programs for management; auto/home insurance discounts; tuition reimbursement; scholarship program; adoption/surrogacy assistance; smoking cessation; child care/cell phone discounts; pet/legal insurance; credit union; referral bonuses. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
