Take advantage of our tuition assistance and scholarship programs to grow both personally and professionally.</p> <p>Histotechnican Position Summary</p> <p>The Histology tech prepares tissue and body fluid specimens sent for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a pathologist, performing any special staining techniques and /or immunoperoxidase techniques requested by the pathologist. He/She performs appropriate clerical and computer applications necessary to process and charge these specimens. The Histotechnician participates in educational and training activities and may participate in routine administrative and non-routine technical functions.</p> <p>Histotechnician Position Requirement</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Degree in Biology or Allied Health field or Experience in the medical field with Medical Terminology and is eligible for training in a Histology Laboratory. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>One year preferred in the health field. </li></ul> <p>Histotechnician Work Schedule</p> <ul> <li>Histology is staffed six days a week. Monday to Friday, it is staffed 0400 to 1700. Saturday, it is staffed 0400 to 1200. Personnel may be assigned to work mostly one shift or may have rotational schedules. Both options may include Saturdays. </li><li>Rotational coverage of Saturdays and holidays. </li><li>Expected to work overtime and/or additional weekends in times of staffing shortages, emergencies and unexpected increases in workload. </li><li>Expected to respond in the event of a disaster. </li></ul> <p>Histotechnician Benefits</p> <ul> <li>At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits. </li><li>Benefits include medical, prescription, vision, dental, flexible spending accounts, disability insurance plans, life insurance, paid time off plans, retirement plans, tuition assistance, employee assistance, and access to on-site childcare and a credit union. </li></ul> <p>Salary range: $24.41 - $37.84 Commensurate with experience</p>
