We are looking for a committed coach who will foster a positive, supportive, and safe environment while teaching fundamental wrestling skills, sportsmanship, and discipline to our student-athletes.</p> <p>MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Program Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the middle school wrestling program, focusing on participation, skill building, and a positive team culture. </li><li>Coaching & Instruction: Plan and conduct effective, age-appropriate practices focusing on fundamental techniques, safety, conditioning, and rules of wrestling. </li><li>Match Management: Develop and organize lineups, manage matches, and make strategic decisions during competition. </li><li>Student Development: Mentor student-athletes, emphasizing sportsmanship, responsibility, and commitment to academic success. </li><li>Administrative Tasks: Manage equipment inventory, coordinate travel logistics, and maintain communication with the Athletic Director, school staff, and parents. </li><li>Compliance: Ensure adherence to all school, district, and athletic association rules and regulation </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>CT Certification 600: Interscholastic/Intramural Coach or eligibility for certification required </li><li>First Aid/CPR Certification </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of wrestling fundamentals, techniques, and safety protocols for middle school athletes. </li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes. </li><li>Commitment to academic excellence and holistic student development. </li><li>Ability to pass a comprehensive background check. </li></ul> <p>RATE OF PAY: $2,879 for the 2025-2026 School Year (* winter season)</p> <p>APPLICATION PROCEDURE:</p> <p>EXTERNAL APPLICANTS: Please submit your application through our website: www.putnamschoolsct.org</p> <p>INTERNAL APPLICANTS: Please submit a letter of interest to Gregory Keith, Principal and Derek Coderre, Athletic Coordinator</p> <p>APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: Open until filled</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p>
