We assist the UWM campus community through collaborative partnerships designed to enhance the university's academic and community service mission and focus on our student's wellbeing as an essential component to student success.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>This position is responsible for providing professional mental health counseling and consultation services, in English and Spanish, to UWM students seeking support and resources through the Student Health and Wellness Center. Counselors at UWM incorporate a brief therapeutic model to address students' emotional and behavioral needs, create developmental programming to increase healthy lifestyle and coping behaviors across campus and provide strategic direction and advocacy for university mental health policy and initiatives.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in social work, counseling or related field </li><li>Independently licensed in the State of Wisconsin as an LPC, LCSW or LMFT or on track for independent licensure in the State of Wisconsin by July 1, 2025 </li><li>Ability to provide bilingual clinical services in both English and Spanish </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>2 or more years of clinical practice in the field of mental health </li><li>Experience working with the college student population </li><li>Experience providing counseling and/or outreach services to the Latinx and/or Spanish-speaking populations </li><li>Experience working with high risk and high acuity populations </li><li>Experience providing brief treatment </li><li>Experience providing crisis intervention treatment </li><li>Experience providing counseling services to clients with eating disorders, to military and veteran students and/or to student athletes </li></ul> <p>Target Salary Range $61,000 - $64,000 Benefits and Total Rewards</p> <p>As part of UWM's commitment to supporting the success of our team members through positive experiences, employees are provided with Benefits to Benefit You and Your Life.
