<p>Job Title: Project Manager</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Join our team as a Project Manager where you will lead and collaborate on mission-critical, data center, and high-tech projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to business development efforts and represent the company at various project gatherings.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Consistently model and reinforce core values through decision-making and execution. </li><li>Manage and grow positive relationships with clients, data center operators, project partners, architects, engineers, commissioning agents, and owners. </li><li>Participate in business development efforts for mission-critical, data center, and high-tech clients. </li><li>Lead new business development opportunities, including lead generation and client pursuits. </li><li>Build confidence in interviewing, presenting, and pitching to prospective clients and stakeholders. </li><li>Represent the company at project kickoff, milestone, commissioning, turnover, and closeout gatherings. </li><li>Maintain proactive and clear communication with project partners, prioritizing verbal communication. </li><li>Manage project issues by presenting both problems and potential solutions to the Team Lead. </li><li>Deliver performance feedback and contribute to formal reviews for direct reports. </li><li>Delegate effectively, oversee workload balance, and provide support to junior staff. </li><li>Provide mentorship, oversight, and support to Project Engineers and Project Coordinators. </li><li>Participate in onboarding and training for new team members; present process improvement and best-practice trainings. </li><li>Serve as the final point of accountability, ensuring all project requirements are completed accurately and to standard. </li><li>Observe and manage the prime contract process. </li><li>Participate in trade partner selection, interviews, awards, and buyouts, focusing on critical systems contractors and key equipment vendors. </li><li>Participate in creation of Scopes of Work, Exhibit A documents, and Schedule of Values for Work Orders. </li><li>Lead procurement planning and management for long-lead mission-critical equipment. </li><li>Monitor project financial performance, oversee budgets, manage contingency, and ensure alignment with profit goals. </li><li>Ensure timely delivery of accounting questionnaires, pencil draw submissions, and change order/claims approvals. </li><li>Manage claims, financial reconciliation, commissioning closeout costs, and Day 2 work planning. </li><li>Oversee job cost details and financial forecasting. </li><li>Identify and mitigate project risks related to procurement, commissioning, and operational readiness. </li><li>Manage multiple tasks and participate in initial project setup. </li><li>Maintain comprehensive awareness of project milestones, equipment delivery schedules, and commissioning activities. </li><li>Estimate projects with approval from the Team Lead and Preconstruction. </li><li>Effectively manage multiple large-scale mission-critical projects concurrently. </li><li>Coordinate closely with field leadership, commissioning agents, design consultants, and client teams. </li><li>Lead management of RFIs, submittals, change orders, and turnover deliverables. </li><li>Maintain strong understanding of project financial structure and mission-critical project delivery requirements. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of six (6) years of experience managing mission-critical, data center, high-tech, or complex MEP-intensive construction projects. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field preferred. </li><li>Proficiency in project scheduling, procurement, scope development, contract review, financial oversight, risk management, and commissioning coordination. </li><li>Experience managing large-scale MEP systems, critical infrastructure installations, equipment procurement, startup, and turnover activities. </li><li>Strong understanding of mission-critical project delivery, commissioning processes, operational readiness, and turnover requirements. </li><li>Ability to foster client retention, build strong relationships, and lead collaborative, high-performing teams. </li><li>Exceptional people management skills with a team-centered leadership approach. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Projects of $1M+. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This position is based out of the Chicago office with occasional travel to project sites.
