<p>Adjunct Faculty, Topics in Color (On Campus)</p> <p>Salary: $2240-$3340 per studio class, per term</p> <p>Location: Lakewood, Colorado</p> <p>Open Until Filled: This is a general posting that will serve to create a pool of applicants for adjunct faculty openings throughout the academic year. Should we have an opening and be interested in pursuing your application, we will contact you with specific information.</p> <p>Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design seeks qualified applicants to teach Topics in Color within the Foundations department on campus Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12:45pm to 4:30pm during our Fall A term. Candidates must have experience working with first-year college students in studio art courses and first-year studio seminar. The curriculum in Foundation Studies serves RMCAD's BFA degrees in Animation, Art Education, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, Game Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design, and Photography. Successful candidates will be part of a growing and dynamic community of educators and practicing artists.</p> <p>RMCAD is committed to supporting faculty in educational care through teaching, academic excellence, engaged pedagogical practices, and professional development. Our goal is to support students in their journey to becoming engaged citizens prepared to flourish in a complex, global world. Students in Foundations + Fine Arts study in a variety of academic disciplines emphasizing the knowledge base needed to pursue an informed, meaningful, and effective studio practice. Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design seeks artists and designers who are passionate about teaching first-year students at the college level.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning and ethics. </li><li>Teaching and Instructional Activities: the practice and art of teaching, including evaluation by students, supervisors, and self. Faculty must also comply with all administrative and classroom management policies, procedures, and instructional deadlines </li><li>Regularly record class attendance in Faculty Portal and submit midterm/final grades by the due date. </li><li>Provide timely, periodic, and meaningful feedback to students on assignments and participation </li><li>Hold regular, weekly office hours. </li><li>Attend required training sessions and departmental meetings. </li><li>Regularly record class attendance in Faculty Portal and submit midterm/final grades by the due date specified. </li><li>Provide timely, periodic, and meaningful feedback to students on assignments and participation. </li><li>Successfully completed online Faculty Certification Course, a two-week faculty online orientation and certification class administered through RMCAD's Learning Management System. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must live in the Denver area </li><li>Candidates must have a MFA or MA within Art and Design and at least 18 graduate credit hours in the posted field or a related discipline. </li><li>Demonstrated expertise in drawing, Illustrator, Photoshop, color theory, and design thinking. </li><li>Official transcripts must be received before invitations to teach courses will be offered. </li><li>Strong written, oral, and online communication skills are required. </li></ul> <p>How to Apply:</p> <p>Review of applicants will begin immediately.
