Our colleagues are in large part our #brand and we are looking for individuals to join us to ensure that guests will create treasured memories here with a longing to return to The Kahala Hotel & Resort.</p> <p>Job Summary: Supervises, leads and organizes all departments in the rooms operations, Front Office, Housekeeping, Security and Engineering Departments, to ensure that the highest standards of service, cleanliness and maintenance are met. Will report to the Resort Manager.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Motivates, trains, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines all Room department managers and employees. </li><li>Trains, motivates, evaluates, disciplines, assists, and guides the Rooms Division. </li><li>Responsible for all Rooms Financial operations of the department, labor control and overall P&L. </li><li>Inspects all public areas and guestrooms to ensure highest standards are met </li><li>Performs administrative duties such as, but not limited to, departmental scheduling, payroll, purchase requests, monthly consumption reports, and checkbook analysis in any of the Rooms departments, as needed. </li><li>Monitors progress and ensures completion of deep cleaning programs, preventative maintenance programs and all housekeeping projects/tasks. </li><li>Monitors progress and ensures completion of all front office, guest services, concierge, front services and pool department programs and tasks. </li><li>Schedules walk-through and follow ups with outside contracts, window cleaners, night cleaners and pest control, etc. as needed for any and all Rooms Division. </li><li>Researches and obtains necessary quotes for supplies and expenses. </li><li>Supports the full operational of the Rooms Division </li><li>Perform line employee job functions in emergency situations. </li><li>Performs a variety of other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Position Requirements</p> <p>Required Experience/Skill and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Three (3) years Housekeeping Management preferred. </li><li>Three (3) years Front Office Operations preferred. </li><li>Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience in a Union Hotel in all areas of Housekeeping preferred. </li><li>Minimum three (3) years Housekeeping supervisory experience in a luxury Resort preferred. </li><li>Back of House Operations knowledge of Engineering/Maintenance preferred </li></ul> <p>Required Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required. </li><li>College degree in hospitality management or similar field preferred. </li></ul> <p>Licenses/Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Certification of tuberculosis clearance required. </li><li>CPR and Standard First Aid Certification preferred. </li><li>Certified Executive Housekeeper designation preferred </li><li>Ability to complete HAZCOM/MSDS Training. </li><li>Ability to complete Blood Borne Pathogen Training required. </li></ul> <p>Mental Capacity & Organizational Skill Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to pay attention to detail, work in a fast paced environment, handle multiple tasks and have a high level of patience. </li><li>Ability to use sound judgment. </li><li>Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions and procedures. </li><li>Ability to prioritize work. </li></ul> <p>Communication Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. </li><li>Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of maturity, patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift, grasp, and/or carry a maximum of 50 pounds frequently. </li><li>Ability to lift, grasp, and/or carry a maximum of up to 100 pounds occasionally. </li><li>Ability to move, pull or push goods on a wheeled cart or hand truck, weighing up to 100 lbs. </li><li>Ability to frequently bend, squat, stoop, kneel, climb, reach and grasp overhead and perform repetitive hand motions. </li><li>Ability to move throughout the work area while performing the essential job functions. </li><li>Ability to stand/walk for 5 hours and sit up to 3 hours a day. </li><li>Assigned shifts may be both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoor environments may not always be air conditioned. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work varying shifts and maintain attendance in accordance with the hotel's attendance policy. </li><li>Ability to comply with all hotel rules and regulations including policies regarding safety and grooming standards. </li><li>Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as outlined in the employee handbook. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>This posting does not include all duties that may be performed by the employee filling this position.
