<p>GRADE</p> <p>ASTD9\n</p> <p>LOCATION OF POSITION</p> <p>MDH - Frederick County Health Department\nEnvironmental Health Services\n350 Montevue Lane\nFrederick, MD 21702?\n</p> <p>Main Purpose of Job</p> <p>This position will provide clerical assistance to the Environmental Health Service (EHS) Department. This position is the initial contact person with the public for food service facility related activities including complaints, new business inquiries, facility annual license renewals, and temporary food permits.?This position will also provide English - Spanish translation services to department clients when requested and assist Spanish speakers with accessing services in Environmental Health.\n\n</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education:? ?Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. \nExperience: Two years performing secretarial or clerical work involving typing duties. \nNotes: \n1. Additional secretarial or clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.\n2. Thirty credit hours with a major in secretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may be substituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up to two years of the required experience. \n3.?Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Administration classifications or Administrative, Clerical, or Office Services specialty codes in the Administrative Support field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.??\n</p> <p>DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>The desired candidate should possess the following:\n\n\n Bilingual in English and Spanish.\n Experience using electronic database applications.\n Excellent communication skills.?\n\n\n</p> <p>SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Demonstrated ability to accurately type on a keyboard of a personal computer at a minimum of forty words per minute may be required, depending on the specific requirements of the position.\n</p> <p>SELECTION PROCESS</p> <p>Applicants who meet the minimum (and selective) qualifications will be included in further evaluation.
