<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Under the direct supervision of the sergeant, ensures the central bus terminal operation meets daily objectives completely and follows agency policies and procedures. </li><li>Provides direction and instruction to inmates and/or correctional officers in a program of discipline, safety, security, and rehabilitation of inmates. </li><li>Provides proper instruction on use of keys, firearms, chemical munitions, and restraining equipment when necessary. Instructs and counsels inmates, as required. </li><li>Monitors inmate movement within the confines of the central bus terminal. </li><li>Provides safe transport of inmates in all custody levels on PCR, medical, transfers, parole and extradition routes (male and female). </li><li>Safekeepers (SK) and special management unit (SMU) inmates are also transported. </li><li>Makes and uses good supervisory judgement and decisions when transporting inmates. </li><li>This position serves as a Richland CDL Driver. </li></ul> <p>Must successfully complete eight (8) week SCDC basic training upon hire</p> <p>Questions regarding the application process, this job posting or any other postings with the SCDC should be directed to:</p> <p>Recruiting and Employment Services</p> <p>(803) 896-1649</p> <p>Employment@doc.sc.gov</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:</p> <p>A high school diploma and relevant experience.
