<p>Job Title: Survey Technician</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>This candidate must be knowledgeable of and abide by safety requirements, and have a good understanding of traffic control and safety procedures for a variety of surveying and construction operations. Responsible for the care, cleaning, and use of a variety of surveying tools and equipment including field radios. Handle daily operations, checking, and basic field adjustments on transits, total stations, total electronic stations, data collectors, levels, compass, tribrachs, and tripods. Knowledgeable of the principles of performing basic surveys: leveling, traversing, triangulation, trilateration, public land surveys, metes and bounds surveys, construction surveys, and photo control surveys. Coordinate field work for a variety of standard types of surveys under the supervision of a Party Chief. Expected to keep neat and orderly field notes for standard surveying operations: leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, profile, and cross-section surveys.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Abide by safety requirements and traffic control procedures. </li><li>Care for, clean, and use various surveying tools and equipment including field radios. </li><li>Handle daily operations, checking, and basic field adjustments on surveying instruments. </li><li>Perform basic surveys such as leveling, traversing, triangulation, trilateration, public land surveys, metes and bounds surveys, construction surveys, and photo control surveys. </li><li>Coordinate field work under the supervision of a Party Chief. </li><li>Maintain neat and orderly field notes for various surveying operations. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>6 months of experience using robotic total stations and data collectors. </li><li>Knowledge of surveying principles and practices. </li><li>Proficiency in using total stations, data collectors, levels, compass, tribrachs, and tripods. </li><li>Attendance and punctuality on job sites. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience in as-built, transportation, and site surveys for wetlands and sitework. </li><li>Knowledge of GPS and topographic surveys. </li><li>Comfortable working outside in different weather conditions. </li><li>Ability to work well in a team environment. </li><li>Must be a reliable employee. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This position is with a 40-person company that offers a family-oriented environment. The team operates in various markets including municipal, state, federal, utility, education, commercial, residential, energy, and transportation. The surveying group consists of 3 CAD drafters and 13 surveyors and is rapidly growing. Work hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some flexibility. The role involves fieldwork, requiring travel throughout the state and working in outdoor conditions. The company provides a car for travel or mileage reimbursement. Additionally, the company supports employees in obtaining their surveying licenses by reimbursing for classes, testing fees, and yearly renewals. Employees also earn 1 week of PTO and paid holidays while on contract.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
