We recruit, hire, train, and promote in all job classifications and at all levels without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, marital status, or genetics."</p> <p>Location and address of position: 245 Fallbrook Blvd - Suite 100 - Lincoln, NE</p> <p>Work schedule: Monday - Friday - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Flexible schedule, 10-hour workdays allowed after six-month probation with management approval.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Review engineering drawings and specifications </li><li>Perform in-depth evaluations of existing dams with regards to hydrology, hydraulics, and structural stability using up-to-date techniques and design criteria </li><li>Conduct studies to determine the proper hazard class for existing dams </li><li>Develop hydraulic models to estimate the area that may be inundated following a dam failure </li><li>Educate dam owners and the public about dam safety </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>The salary range for the Professional Engineer I level is $35.641 to $44.090 per hour. Salary is commensurate with applicant's education and experience, if approved.</p> <p>If unable to fill at the Professional Engineer, I level would consider underfilling at the Engineer Level</p> <p>Engineer Hourly Rate: $31.265</p> <p>Requirements/Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Professional Engineer I: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline. Must possess a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license at the time of application and be licensed by the Nebraska Board of Engineers and Architects at time of employment or be able to obtain such license within 90 days of employment.</p> <p>Engineer: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline. Must obtain Engineer Intern Enrollment (Engineering in Training Certification) within one year of employment</p> <p>Other:</p> <ul> <li>Valid driver's license or ability to provide independent transportation. </li><li>Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance required. </li><li>Ability to Work in and around water </li><li>Ability to travers rough terrain </li><li>Ability to work under varying environmental conditions </li><li>Ability to climb a 10-foot ladder </li><li>Ability to lift 50 pounds </li><li>Submit a resume or list on the application specific detailed experience relevant to the position in years and months </li><li>Submit a current list of at least 2 professional references (previous employers) with valid telephone numbers </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <p>Knowledge Of: civil engineering theories, principles, and practices of civil engineering and design; modern methods and techniques of drinking water and wastewater system construction, maintenance, and materials; legal responsibilities and ramifications associated with the work performed; federal and agency design standards, specifications, and procedures; federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the function performed; practices and terminology of computer operation and Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD); Geographic Information Systems (GIS); mathematics, surveying and material testing; engineering properties of materials and surfacing types; rehabilitation and maintenance techniques; and practical engineering concepts</p> <p>Skill In: communicating with the regulated community, prioritizing workloads; using analytical judgement to make decisions, making engineering computations in designing difficult engineering projects, making complete engineering plans, using computer programs (word, excel, powerpoint, engineering related programs, etc.) and reviewing and preparing technical reports.</p> <p>Ability To: interpret, understand and implement State and federal laws and regulations, and agency standards, policies, and procedures; read interpret and evaluate engineering plans and specifications; understand all levels of project design; organize, analyze, and evaluate available information and draw reasonable conclusions; communicate information clearly and concisely; interpret, use, and explain civil engineering plans, maps, specifications and standards and reports, communicate with the public, contractors, consultants, agency staff at all levels, and local government officials; interact with assigned worker, other agency employees, local government representatives, contractors, consultants, and the public.</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>We offer a comprehensive package of pay, benefits, paid time off, retirement and professional development opportunities to help you get the most out of your career and life.
