<p>Hiring Department</p> <p>Finance & Administration Division</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>UMSL's Division of Finance & Operations seeks a Manager III, Business Administration (Business Manager)! This important position supports the business and fiscal operations of the University and is a wonderful opportunity to work in an enriching setting where duties vary day-to-day. Requires a proactive, detail-oriented person with excellent communication skills who enjoys working in close collaboration with executive-level stakeholders to accomplish the University's strategic mission.</p> <p>The position supports multiple units across campus (portfolio to be determined), and reports to the Director III, Business Administration in the Division of Finance & Operations.</p> <p>Duties include:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the business and financial policy and practices of the University; Identify, troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems and coordinate resources and priorities to meet operational objectives </li><li>Perform and sometimes direct actions related to accounting, budgeting, financial planning, payroll and contracts </li><li>Collect, track and provide business information and non-academic metrics to guide the organization to on-target performance </li><li>Provide business and operational support to units, assesses current and future staffing needs of the unit and plans accordingly </li><li>Provide assistance with training, supporting and guiding campus employees with fiscal responsibility </li><li>Project and monitor budget performance for financially related operations </li><li>Participate in the development of standard processes and tools for all financial functions with all other business and functional managers within the finance organization </li><li>Maintain an environment of compliance to fiscal policies and procedures, ensure transactions are properly documented and authorized, and ensure adequacy of internal controls to safeguard assets and minimize risk </li><li>Liaise with MU Shared Services, HR, IT and other campus functional areas to conduct business operations </li><li>Understand the execution of hiring strategy and initiate hiring orders, payroll and position changes </li><li>Configure and maintain financial authorizations </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor applicants for this position for employment visas.</p> <p>Shift</p> <p>40 hours/week Monday thru Friday, in person</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work with an array of personalities, under pressure and within deadlines, especially with high-level administrators, executives, faculty, and staff. </li><li>Goal oriented and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. </li><li>Aptitude for consensus building and the ability to maintain positive constituent and colleague relationships through constructive communication skills and professionalism. </li><li>Strong collaborative, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. </li><li>Good listener with excellent oral and written communications skills. </li></ul> <p>Anticipated Hiring Range</p> <p>Salary Range: $59,737.60 - $77,000 per year</p> <p>Grade: GGS-011</p> <p>University Title: Manager III Business Administration</p> <p>Internal applicants can determine their University title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.</p> <p>Application Materials</p> <ul> <li>Application materials include a cover letter and resume.
