<p>Applications Engineer:</p> <p>About the Role</p> <p>We're looking for an Applications Engineer who enjoys working on custom engineered equipment and supporting projects from concept through handoff. This role is hands-on, collaborative, and ideal for someone with strong mechanical fundamentals, SolidWorks expertise, and experience supporting custom-designed systems-not high-volume product development.</p> <p>You'll review RFQs, clarify requirements with customers and sales, model large assemblies, generate supporting documentation, and help guide engineering best practices. This position is a great fit for someone who can balance technical design work with project support and cross-functional communication.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Review RFQs for completeness and develop project-specific questions for customers. </li><li>Clarify scope details through meetings with sales teams and/or customers. </li><li>Create 3D models and large assemblies in SolidWorks. </li><li>Use Microsoft Excel daily for calculations, documentation, and project tracking. </li><li>Support custom project engineering (not product development work). </li><li>Manage multiple active projects and shifting priorities. </li><li>Provide mentorship, coaching, and support to fellow engineers when needed. </li></ul> <p>Skills & Experience</p> <p>Must-Have Skills:</p> <ul> <li>SolidWorks (3D modeling & large assembly work) </li><li>Application engineering experience </li><li>Experience with sheet metal, weldments, or metal fabrication </li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) </li><li>Open to candidates without a degree if they have strong relevant experience </li><li>3+ years of mechanical or application engineering experience </li></ul> <p>Additional Nice-to-Haves</p> <ul> <li>Experience with industrial ovens, thermal systems, or custom machinery </li><li>Strong problem-solving abilities </li><li>Experience developing or improving processes </li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams </li></ul> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Permanent position based out of Watertown, WI.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $105000.00/yr.</p> <p>Thank you for your interest working with Actalent to advance your career.
