<p>Supervisor: Employed by the Board of Education and responsible to the principal and ultimately to the superintendent.</p> <p>Job Objective: The primary role of the elementary teacher is to provide students with the environment, materials and instructional expertise necessary to enable them to appreciate school in all diversity and to develop their creative powers, problem solving abilities and craftsmanship. To help your students think and work independently, learn the subject areas taught at or above grade level and grow as people in and out of the classroom. The teacher will be expected to follow state standards where appropriate and to safely challenge their students to hit benchmarks geared towards their age, grade level and cognitive ability.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of a BA or equivalent from a four-year college or university. </li><li>Such alternatives to the above qualifications. </li><li>Embody high ethical standards and integrity. </li><li>Maintain a record free of criminal violations.
