<p>The assistant probation officer completes bail evaluations to assist the court and attorneys in making informed decisions, monitors compliance of pretrial clients on electronic monitoring and random testing, has responsibility over specified service delivery, including electronic monitor set up and alcohol and drug testing. All tasks will be performed in accordance with county and department policy and procedure.</p> <p>This position is based out of the Sherburne County Government Center in Elk River, MN. The following duties are normal for this position. These duties are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.</p> <p> </p> <p>Reports and Documentation</p> <p>Interview and complete pretrial bail evaluations for defendants in custody to assist the attorneys and the court in making appropriate release decisions. </p> <p>Complete timely and accurate pretrial violations and other correspondence to the court and criminal justice partners as needed. </p> <p>Maintain accurate chronological recordings and client case data in CSTS.</p> <p>Case Management</p> <p>Monitor compliance of pretrial clients on electronic monitoring and or random testing, including testing follow up and monitor payment compliance; communicate with service providers, criminal justice partners and others and file pretrial violations as needed. </p> <p>Service Delivery</p> <p>Collect urine samples and/or other bodily fluid and administer preliminary breath tests to Community Corrections and Health and Human Service clients and clients from other outside referral sources. </p> <p>Monitor, stock and order drug testing supplies as needed. </p> <p>Complete pretrial and post sentence electronic monitoring hook-ups.</p> <p>Two years of post-secondary education in criminal justice, social work, behavioral science or a related field; OR</p> <p>Two years work experience in probation, health and human services or corrections/resident care.</p> <p>Work in government agency is preferred.</p> <p>An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.</p> <p>Candidates selected for the interview process will be contacted via email the first week of September for interviews the second week of September.</p> <p>Physical Requirements and Work Environment</p> <p>Work is normally performed in an office environment. </p> <p>Hazards may include interaction with angry and hostile clients, collection of bodily fluids (urine and saliva).</p>
