<p>Special Education Teacher - (0.5 FTE)</p> <p>This is a grant-funded position and wil be located at Sacred Heart School in Weymouth.</p> <p>Weymouth Public Schools is a dynamic and inclusive learning community dedicated to "Educational Excellence for Every Weymouth Student." Our highly qualified educators and staff members work to provide personalized attention and support to ensure that every student thrives.</p> <p>This is a grant-funded position and will be located at Sacred Heart School in Weymouth.</p> <ul> <li>Must be licensed as a Special Education teacher - Moderate Disabilities with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education </li><li>SEI Endorsement Required </li><li>Must hold a bachelor's degree or higher. </li><li>Experience with multi-sensory, explicit phonics instruction (OG, Wilson preferred) </li></ul> <p>General Duties:</p> <p>Guides and evaluates the learning experience of the students in her/his classes and accepts responsibility for the activities of students within her/his purview within the school building or on the school grounds.</p> <p>Specific Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Provides differentiated curriculum instruction to students, particularly for reading instruction </li><li>Provides multisensory, explicit phonics instruction </li><li>Participates in curriculum planning and professional development activities as applicable to the student programming </li><li>Keeps data, prepares records, and reports as required for student progress reporting </li><li>Participates in IEP meetings as invited </li><li>Attends faulty meetings as requested by the building administration </li><li>Executes the School Committee policy. </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer:</p> <p>Weymouth Public Schools is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free</p> <p>from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender,</p> <p>sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status,</p> <p>veteran status, political affiliation or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.</p>
