<p>Schedule: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday, option to work 9/80 schedule.</p> <p>SUMMARY</p> <p>Under the supervision of the Community Preservation Manager, is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to identify and monitor residential rental properties through the Good Landlord Program and Short-Term Rental Program. Address property management issues to help mitigate code violations and public nuisances from rental properties that impact the quality of life within our neighborhoods. Collaborate with a wide range of partners to create and implement action plans that support the mission and goals of our organization.</p> <p>SUPERVISION EXERCISED</p> <p>None.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES</p> <ul> <li>Implement programs to improve property maintenance and licensing requirements </li><li>Monitor progress of property maintenance and licensing within the records management system(s) and be able to accurately document and report these findings </li><li>Monitor and conduct compliance follow-up on all residential rental properties to maintain neighborhood continuity </li><li>Coordinates activities with other city departments and personnel </li><li>Maintains accurate logs and reports within the records management system(s) </li><li>Provides educational information to citizens through handouts, presentations, and in one-on-one conversations </li><li>Attends training and information meetings concerning community programs </li><li>Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education: High school diploma or GED.</p> <p>Experience: Four years of customer service experience dealing with conflict resolution and handling customer complaints, oral presentations, and report writing. Two years of prior code enforcement, law enforcement, land use, planning or related experience.</p> <p>Certifications/Licenses:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Utah Driver's License </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</p> <p>Knowledge of:</p> <ul> <li>City zoning regulations and codes; health codes and their application </li><li>Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations </li><li>Working knowledge of Code Enforcement Operations, Business Licensing, Planning processes and Administrative Law processes </li><li>Principles and procedures of record keeping </li><li>Principles and techniques used in dealing with the public </li><li>Safe driving principles and practices </li><li>Good Landlord Program </li><li>Short-term Rental Program </li></ul> <p>Skill with:</p> <ul> <li>Operating modern office equipment including computer equipment and software </li><li>Operating communications equipment including telephone and two-way radios </li><li>Operating a motor vehicle safely </li></ul> <p>Ability to:</p> <ul> <li>Learn local geography, city streets, public buildings, and businesses </li><li>Learn to properly interpret and make decisions in accordance with federal, state, and local policies, procedures, laws, and regulations </li><li>Prepare clear and concise reports </li><li>Keep records and files of work progress </li><li>Meet and deal with the public tactfully and effectively </li><li>Exercise good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs </li><li>Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing </li><li>Communicate professionally with citizens, other employees, and agencies in difficult and possibly hostile situations </li><li>Prioritize and multitask efficiently with strong organizational skill </li><li>Strong organizational skills </li><li>Work independently and as part of a team </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>Work in a standard office environment which includes reaching, bending, sitting, standing, talking, hearing, and listening. Ability to travel to different sites and locations. Ability to handle extreme pressure and fatigue due to daily exposure to almost always stressful situations. Must be able to lift and carry 30lbs for 25 yards.</p>
