<p>TOTAL REWARDS SPECIALIST</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Total Rewards Specialist is responsible for managing the full scope of employee compensation and benefits programs in support of the mission and workforce needs of the health center. This position ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations-including those relevant to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)-while promoting competitive and sustainable practices that attract and retain a high-performing, community-focused team.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>None. </li></ul> <p>Duties/ Responsibilities:</p> <p>Compensation:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for HRIS administration to ensure accurate employee reporting and workforce planning. </li><li>Benchmarks compensation structures and incentive pay programs using data from comparable FQHCs, CHCs, and nonprofit healthcare providers. </li><li>Maintains knowledge of economic conditions, labor market, and other factors related to ensuring the organization provides competitive and reasonable benefits and compensation scales and structures. </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Administers health center benefit offerings, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance plans. </li><li>Administers employee savings plans that include the company's 403(b) plan, personal savings plans, and deferred compensation programs. </li><li>Conducts annual benefits renewal and open enrollment processes, including preparation of employee education materials and coordination with vendors. </li><li>Educates new hires on total rewards offerings. </li><li>Identifies and selects carriers and plans based on quotes, available benefits, and prior experience. </li><li>Communicates benefits and compensation updates to staff, including eligibility, enrollment, plan changes, SARs, and compliance matters. </li><li>Evaluates plan performance and provider service levels; collaborates with brokers and third-party administrators as needed. </li><li>Conducts employee surveys, census, and other research and demographic efforts required to collect accurate quotes from benefit providers. </li><li>Partners with payroll and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely remittance of employee deductions and employer contributions. </li><li>Develops and administers systems and processes to track benefit utilization and identify cost-saving or coverage-improving opportunities. </li><li>Maintains professional relationships with brokers and third-party administrators </li></ul> <p>Other Human Resources Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversees administration of FMLA, state leave programs, Workers' Compensation, and other job-protected leaves; coordinates workplace injury investigations. </li><li>Maintains compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and relevant HRSA requirements. </li><li>Maintains documentation for audits, grant reporting, and compliance reviews related to workforce benefits and compensation. </li><li>Serves as key partner to Wellness Committee </li><li>Supports staff recruitment and retention by ensuring that compensation and benefit offerings reflect market competitiveness and staff needs. </li><li>Supports credentialing and privileging process, as needed. </li><li>Performs additional duties as needed to support a high-functioning, mission-driven HR team. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to educate and support a diverse staff </li><li>Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and compensation strategies </li><li>Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines </li><li>Strong working knowledge of ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and FMLA, as well as state-specific leave policies </li><li>Analytical thinking and attention to detail </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems; experience with systems such as Paycom or Paylocity. </li><li>Commitment to confidentiality and the mission of community-based healthcare </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or equivalent </li><li>Three years of progressive experience administering compensation or benefits programs </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related </li><li>Experience in a mid-sized healthcare setting </li><li>SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CEBS, CBP or other benefits- or compensation-specific certification </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time. </li></ul>
