<p>Position Summary</p> <p>As a Facilities Repair Worker, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks of a heavy physical nature involved in, and incidental to the daily maintenance of facilities at MMHI. You will work with hand and power tools, floor maintenance machines, and snow removal equipment.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>The starting pay will be $20.34 per hour, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.</p> <p>Pay for current or former state employees is set based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 03/10.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>All applicants will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.</p> <p>All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by MMHI or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.</p> <p>This position has physical requirements which may include but are not limited to lifting up to 50 pounds, twisting, bending, crawling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Applicants will be required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.</p> <p>DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. DHS is not an E-Verify employer nor a STEM-OPT eligible employer.</p> <p>This position requires the ability to drive a State vehicle. In order to become authorized to drive a State vehicle, you must meet the requirements of the State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy, which are:</p> <ul> <li>Must have a valid driver's license, </li><li>Must have minimum of two years non-probationary licensed driving experience with a regular (Class D) driver's license, </li><li>Must be 18 years of age. </li></ul> <p>Additionally, your driving record MUST NOT reflect any of the following conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Three or more moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the past two years, </li><li>Operating While Intoxicated (OWI)/Driving Under the Influence (DUI) citation within the past 12 months, </li><li>Suspension or revocation of driver's license. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet the requirements of the State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy to drive a state vehicle. </li><li>Ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime or extra hours as needed. </li><li>Experience cleaning in a commercial setting (e.g., sanitizing, disinfecting, etc.). </li><li>Experience using automatic cleaning equipment such as auto scrubbers, pressure washers, water extractors, or carpet extractors. </li></ul> <p>Well-qualified applicants will also have the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience stripping and waxing floors. </li><li>Experience with laundry distribution (e.g., folding and sorting linens and garments, operating motorized carts for delivery and pick up, tracking and maintaining quantities of inventory, etc.). </li><li>Experience cleaning in a hospital or prison environment (e.g., cleaning hazardous material, using specialized cleaning systems, etc.). </li></ul> <p>For a guide on developing your resume and what should be included, click here.</p> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Applying is easy!
