We welcome talented, high-energy, fun team members to partner with our community to enhance our quality of life through environmental stewardship and economic vitality.</p> <p>More About the Role:</p> <p>The position will provide technical assistance to the Storm Water Services Permitting and Compliance Program (P&C) with essential program functions. P&C provides engineering plan review and inspection services of stormwater control measures to meet NPDES permit requirements. P&C also manages the design and construction of stormwater repair projects on minor and major stormwater systems. The candidate may be assisting the program in any of the following areas: - Land development plan review and approval of commercial and residential construction projects for compliance with Federal, State and local requirements - Primary focus on erosion and sediment control, storm drainage, water quality storm water control measures etc for land development projects to assure that the projects comply with local ordinance requirements. - Perform engineering design and construction administration for storm water system repair projects. - Manage the planning, engineering design and construction administration for street improvement projects.</p> <p>Essential Skills for the Role:</p> <p>Ability to navigate Development Ordinance and Post Construction Ordinance in Towns in Mecklenburg County</p> <p>Ability to analyze technical Storm Water Control Measures and storm drainage conveyance systems</p> <p>Excellent Communication Skills needed to collaborate between developers, municipal agencies and engineering teams to streamline the permitting/approval process</p> <p>Direct the comprehensive review of construction plans to ensure certifications designs meet all ordinance and standards for the Towns and Mecklenburg County.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Performs land development plan review for projects in 5 of the Towns of Mecklenburg County.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>Technical Review of land development plans including stormwater calculations, erosion control calculations, flood study reviews and land development standards</p> <p>Provide complete reviews within a specific timeline</p> <p>Enforce and applies local ordinances, design specifications, standards manual, etc. to private and public construction projects to ensure adequate infrastructure is constructed with minimal impact to the environment.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>Minimum of two years of related project management experience or training.</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, one of the natural sciences or a related field.</p> <p>Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?: Yes</p> <p>Licenses and Certifications</p> <p>Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License</p> <p>Requires County Driving Privileges</p> <p>Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required</p> <p>Depending on area of assignment, may require Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) license.</p> <p>Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer In Training (EIT)</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Professional Engineer, Construction Project Management - Land Development, Commercial & Residential Design Project Management, Qualified Environmental Professional</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <p>Knowledge of</p> <p>Applicable principles, practices, methods, and techniques used in assigned area of responsibility</p> <p>Business English, spelling and arithmetic</p> <p>Applicable Federal, State and local statutes, codes, and regulations</p> <p>Recordkeeping principles and practices</p> <p>Databases</p> <p>Filing systems</p> <p>Customer service principles</p> <p>Skills</p> <p>Completing paperwork and documentation</p> <p>Reviewing plans and/or specifications</p> <p>Performing a variety of engineering-related calculations</p> <p>Providing customer service</p> <p>Maintaining records and filing systems</p> <p>Abilities</p> <p>Driving for Results: Setting high goals for personal and group accomplishment;
