<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Paraprofessional/Office Paraprofessional</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/18/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>SALEM HIGH SCHOOL</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Until Filled</p> <p>District:</p> <p>  Plymouth-Canton Community Schools  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>PLACMENT: General Education</p> <p>PRIMARY ASSIGNMENT: Office Paraprofessional</p> <p>LOCATION: Salem High School</p> <p>HOURS: 37.5 hours per week</p> <p>6:30am -2:30pm</p> <ul> <li>Report to primary assignment daily, but may be assigned to other duties or positions within general education based on day to day building and program needs. </li></ul> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Assists in the completion of school office-related tasks, supports student needs, and is responsive to staff and parent inquiries that are filtered to the main office.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>High School graduate or equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of general office procedures and basic computer software packages Excel, Word, Gmail, Google Drive)</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of general office equipment (computer, copy machine, fax etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Interpersonal and judgmental skills necessary to work effectively with parents, staff, and public in person and on the phone.</p> </li><li> <p>Good written and oral communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Good attendance record.</p> </li><li> <p>Good organizational skills and ability to be self-directed</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain confidential information.</p> </li></ol> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Welcomes/assists students, parents, and staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides clinic/first aid/medication support to students.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains student files, both paper and computer based records.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors student attendance on MiStar.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists member of the PTO with clerical tasks.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with set up and clean up for meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists staff with clerical and other office assignments.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with distribution of correspondence either by email or interoffice mail.</p> </li><li> <p>Places/receives telephone calls, records messages and forwards calls to appropriate individuals.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with other duties as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Bending, lifting an overhead work required.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>This description is intended to describe the essential job functions, the general supplemental functions and the essential requirements for the performance of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes walk and sit. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs such as boxes of books. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people.
