<p>TO:All Teaching and Administrative Personnel Brockton Public Schools</p> <p>FROM:Dr. Kathleen F. Moran Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources</p> <p>SUBJECT:Special Education Coordinator - Early Childhood SY 2025-2026</p> <p>It is requested that the following information be brought to the attention of all teaching and administrative personnel in the Brockton Public Schools.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>MA DESE Certification as an Administrator of Special Education. </li><li>At least five years of successful teaching and/or leadership experience in the administration of Special Education for students in early childhood and pre-kindergarten programs, services, and classes. </li><li>Thorough working knowledge of disabilities including best practices in accommodations, modifications, adaptations, and specialized instruction. </li><li>Proficiency with MA Curriculum Frameworks and district curriculum programs/ADL skills. </li><li>Experience in creating and providing professional development. </li><li>Strong leadership skills in organization, developing goals, best instructional practices, communication, problem solving, and collaboration. </li><li>Experience in supervising and evaluating staff. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities: 1.Coordinate with external agencies and families to facilitate transitional planning conferences for children prior to their third birthday to begin the eligibility process for preschool age children. 2.Supervise and evaluate special education staff assigned to pre-kindergarten classrooms and programs. 3.Supervise and monitor curriculum development, the implementation of classroom instruction and student learning within the pre- kindergarten classroom and programs. 4.Facilitate and oversee the Diagnostician and Interventionist Teams. 5.Participate in the recruitment and interview process for pre-kindergarten teachers and support staff candidates. 6.Assist in the compilation of statistical data required by the DESE. 7.Conduct staff meetings with special education staff assigned to pre-kindergarten classrooms and programs. 8.Develop and supervise a smooth transition for eligible pre-kindergarten students from the early childhood program to the kindergarten program throughout the district. 9.Conduct and coordinate professional development. 10.Assist in the development of department and building based special education budgets. 11.Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Exceptional Learning.</p> <p>Compensation:1.25 ratio/10 months plus 2 weeks Workday: 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Reports to: Assistant Director of Special Education - Pre K -5</p>
